Did you know St. Columba’s was once a private home before becoming a church? Or that early summer services were sometimes held outdoors beneath the trees?

As we prepare for the Feast of St. Columba’s, we’re also celebrating two important moments in our shared history:
• the 95th anniversary of becoming a mission church
• the 75th anniversary of our first service in this building

Join us as we celebrate together on Sunday, June 7.

After worship, we will gather for a picnic lunch, photos and stories from the parish archives, a brief history presentation, and a chance to reflect on the generations who helped shape St. Columba’s into the community it is today.

Whether you’ve been here for decades or are new to the community, we’d love for you to be part of the celebration.

“What St. Columba’s has provided is a kind of hybridization between a parish and a monastic life,” says Vincent Pizzuto in a recent feature on St. Columba's Inverness by U.S. Catholic.

The article explores how St. Columba’s is nurturing a contemplative path for lay Christians through retreats, communal prayer, and spiritual formation—offering what some see as a new expression of religious life for the wider church.

Read the article and explore where your own contemplative vocation may be calling you.
