Prayer and Fasting Focus: Be in awe of God

Awe is a complex, positive emotion defined as an overwhelming feeling of reverence, wonder, and respect, often mixed with a touch of fear or surprise.

It is typically triggered by witnessing or experiencing something vastly greater, more powerful, or more beautiful than oneself.

Experiencing awe shifts your body out of the "fight-or-flight" stress response and into a calm "rest-and-digest" state.

It lowers the heart rate, reduces chronic inflammation, boosts the immune system, and triggers the release of dopamine and oxytocin.

Isn’t it amazing that our Creator designed us to be in awe of Him?!

Take time each day to sit and be in awe of Him…who He is, His creation, His ways, etc. It relaxes your body, it calms your soul, and it lifts your Spirit, all while bringing glory to God!

Psalm 33:8
Let the whole world fear the Lord, and let everyone stand in awe of him.

Psalm 65:8
Those who live at the ends of the earth stand in awe of your wonders.
From where the sun rises to where it sets, You inspire shouts of joy.

Hebrews 12:28-29
