Lord, like Thomas we wrestle with faith amid doubts and fears. Grant us Your Holy Spirit that believing we may see, and that seeing we may rejoice in Your Son and the power of His resurrection. Amen.

Propitiation. The word is defined as the act that satisfies God’s wrath towards sinners, the thing that turns God’s wrath away. As we bask in the glow of Easter, we are not simply happy that Christ was dead and now He is alive. Joy comes from knowing what He accomplished by His dying and rising. For those who believe in Him, He has turned God’s wrath away. This is the thing that brings joy and triumph: His blood atonement for our rebellion and guilt. Propitiation. Death is dead, and life lives. Easter isn’t past. It’s only beginning.
