Beliefs:
The following doctrines are, what we believe, the foundational teachings of the Bible. THE INFALLIBLE WORD OF GOD
We accept the Bible as the complete and inspired Word of God. Therefore, all doctrine should be derived from scripture alone. "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" (2 Tim. 3:16)
THE ONENESS OF GOD
We believe in one indivisible God who created the universe and reigns as Sovereign over all His creation. "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:" (Deut. 6:4)
"One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all." (Eph. 4:6)
JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONE GOD REVEALED
We believe Jesus of Nazareth was not merely a man, but was God Incarnate. All that God is, all His attributes are fully vested in Jesus Christ. Therefore, all power in heaven and in earth belong to Him. "In him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily." (Col. 2:9)
"Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person..." (Heb. 1:3)
JESUS CHRIST IS FULLY GOD AND FULLY MAN
We believe in the absolute diety and absolute humanity of Jesus Christ. He was both at the same time. As a man, He slept; as God, he calmed the storm. As a man, He hungered; as God, He fed the 5,000. As a man, He died; as God, He rose from the dead. He was a human in every way just like us, except for sin. Every part of the human condition, Jesus took part in; although unlike us, He was not born with a sinful nature. He was born with a perfect sinless human nature, just as Adam had in the Garden of Eden. "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." (Is. 9:6)
"For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin." (Heb. 4:15)
SALVATION
We believe that salvation comes by identifying with the Death, Burial, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. We do this by repenting of our sins (dying out), being baptized in water by immersion in the name of Jesus (burial), and receiving the Holy Ghost (resurrecting to a new life). This also fulfills the command of Jesus that we all must be born again of water and of the Spirit. Water baptism and Spirit baptism. This is also known as the New Birth Experience. "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." (Acts 2:38)
"Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." (John 3:5)
THE SIGN OF THE INFILLING OF THE HOLY GHOST
The Baptism of the Holy Ghost is the promise of the Father and is given to all who obey the scriptures. The initial sign from God of a believer receiving His Spirit is He speaks through them in another language you have never known before. Several examples are given by Luke, the writer of the Book of Acts, that tongues accompany the believer at Spirit baptism. Examples: (Acts 2:1-4, 10:44-48, 19:1-5)
BAPTISM IN JESUS NAME
We believe that the only saving name is Jesus. Therefore, we affirm that everyone must be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12)
"And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus..." (Col. 3:17)
"Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him. and given him a name which is above every name:" (Phi. 2:9)
LIVING A HOLY LIFE
After the believer has been born again of water and of the Spirit, we believe that we go on unto perfection. We seek to live a holy and separated life. God is calling every individual to forsake our sinful lives and walk in the newness of life. "...Be ye holy; for I am holy." (1 Pe. 1:16)
"Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse oneself from filthiness of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. (2 Cor. 7:1)
"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you," (2 Cor. 6:17)
Follow peace with all men and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord. (Heb.12:14)
ETERNITY
We believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ to the earth, where he will come to separate those who are faithful and those who are wicked. Heaven for the faithful, hell for the wicked. It will ultimately be how we respond to the gospel here on this earth that will determine where we spend eternity.
