The Bible tells us we have a more sure of prophecy. (2 Peter 1:19) I can see what's going on around me with my natural eyes. If I focus on the obvious things going on around me over God's Word then I will choose to live in the earth's cursed system.

The threat of government overreach is compounded by pastors and elders who see the Church as too holy to mingle itself with “politics.” This leads to Francis Shaeffer’s warning, “I believe the majority of the silent majority, young and old will sustain the loss of liberties without raising their voices as long as their own life-styles are not threatened.”

He warned that the greatest threat to Christianity in the West would be the temptation to trade freedom for personal peace and prosperity, but that is the fast track to losing all three: freedom, prosperity, and peace.
