Dear Sister,
I am really glad to hear from you and to know you are all well.
We are fine here too. But my principal in the Sowhope Technical College and Nursery School Just passed away yesterday after some weeks of illness, we are burying him today.
It is a big loss for me. as he has been a very good principal and manager of the school. it was difficult to get him, now we have just started school getting a replacement is a big challenge.
Pls be in prayers for me.
My Unle Barrister and former registrar Ecwa university Ishaya Adiwu, just finished editing one of the books "How can we reconcile God and our suffering"? I am trying to finish the correction and start thinking about publishing. He has also started editing the second one.
I am also defending my chapter one of the Phd research work "The plight of Single Mothers in Bassa LGA a Biblical women liberation perspective" with the TCNN Bukuru.
My greetings to your family,
Sarah

Grace and peace.
This is to inform you of our sad situation. This is the Second year we started our School. I am still using my pension for running the school and part of the money you send to me and if some students are able to pay their fees so that we pay staff salary and buy teaching materials.
which is always very rare because they are mostly orphans and poor.
The problem the little money I had and the school has is all gone. This is because from his sickness, to his demise the responsibility was left to us. He laid at home critically sick, His family left him suffering at home and did not take him to hospital. It was we from our school that took him to the hospital, they left us to pay all the charges, provide food for him and even after his death we had to pay hospital bills and pay for the coffin. they contributed only a little for the coffin.Even the transportation to the burial ground we did almost everything.
Now we have nothing in our purse and we need to pay the school building rent at the end of this september. about 150,000 Naira i.e. about $400
Please be in prayers for us and for our school to have resources, and all teaching materials needed to continue. plus more demands for protective materials from coronavirus we need to protect ourselves and the students.
God bless you .
Sarah

NEWS FROM SARAH MAIGARI IN NIGERIA

Dear Sister,

Grace and peace.
I sincerely thank you all, and appreciate God for the privilege given to us all to partake in this work of empowerment for Kingdom building and for better life amongst the poor people.

May God bless you all and keep you safe.

REPORTS-
I was able to see my cardiologist and bought some medicine for my heart. I am feeling much better now. Praise God..

Report From Technical School-

1. I was able to buy some cans of paint and Victor repainted our black boards for us in the four classes. since we could not afford to be buying makers for writing on the plastic board every week, and the chalk is cheaper.
2. We needed more chairs so I bought these ones you see in the picture. Now we have enough chairs for the students except if we have more students. Then we will have to make more seats.
Especially that we are having request to start a nursery and primary school.

The teachers and me, saw the need for the primary and nursery, because there are many toddlers and small children around us and the parents that have their older children in our secondary school want to bring the younger ones too to attend the nursery and primary education. We too feel the need to groom the children from the nursery stage to the young adults because we trust our training intellect better than other schools around us.
More so that, those students that came from remote villages are giving us tough times to train as they don’t know how to read and write even at secondary school level so it is very difficult for us to train them most of their parents brought them for skills. but they have to have formal education as well. Since our school is formal education.
The nursery and primary school is for prayers yet, for God to give us the materials, facilities, teachers and all, though it is very important to us, we pray for the possibility to start this in January 2020. It means more chairs, tables, cupboards, mats, toys, books, games instruments or equipment’s, etc.

Eight of our students come from villages about 25- 30 miles away, to live with relatives and study but could not stay comfortably with the relatives due to poverty eating deeper in families these days one meal a day is becoming difficult for lot of people. and because we dont have students hostel (boarding house for students and really this is important too for those needing just skills.) in Jebu where our school is the parents had to withdrew the students back to their village, to the sadness of the students because the school at their village is not a technical school. now we have 70 students please be praying for us.

3. The Juvenile group is doing well.

4. The women center in the following places are doing well but have more demands now as the villagers saw the work we are doing and are happy and interested with it so the women are getting more and more interested and coming out to learn skills.

5. We also bought some cement to repair some broken fence and walls, and painted some parts of the Diwom headquarters building.
Present report of needs from centers in the different States-
Plateau My State--
1. We need 4 sewing machines and 1 knitting for Jebu (Headquarters) we have 20 women learning five women can work with each machine and
2. We need 4 sewing machines for over 30 girls and boys learning sewing skills in the secondary school section.
3. We also need a gas cooker, small stove and other kitchen utensils. For those learning catering in the technical school.

4. Binchi, village we need 3 sewing and 1. Knitting machine

5. Bayara, Village in Bauchi State. 30 women learning sewing we need 3 more sewing and 1 knitting machine

6. Janji,. Village -Plateau State 35 women and girls learning needs 3 sewing machines
Other states and villages are yet to give me their reports till December ending.
7. Agingi is a new village and they have been pleading for even one sewing machine for their group of 25 women.
8. In angwan Kauna- Jebu, a group of 30 widows too are pleading for even one sewing machine for their young widows to learn sewing on.

I have to submit this report now because of the urgent needs at hand, hoping we could be supported to help encourage the interest in the hearts of the women for a better life.
9. I also pray Sister Martha remembers her promise to us to finish the borehole that was started.
Thanks to you all, and may the God bless and keep you.
Sarah

Save the Date
The Indiana Kentucky Women's Retreat will be Friday, Oct 23- Sunday, Oct. 25 at St. Meinrad Archabbey in St. Meinrad, IN.
Some of the activities in our tentative plan are: sharing the exciting things happening in our churches, touring the Archabbey, attending Vespers on Saturday evening, and celebrating worship at Trinity United Church of Christ in Fulda (just down the road) on Sunday morning. We have lots of musical people attend our retreats. It would be fun to take advantage of their gifts and talents.
The cost for lodging and meals will probably be $175. There will be $50 scholarships available from the Lovonia Wesson fund.
If you have any questions or suggestions contact Gayle Morley Jahn 812 529-8232.

MORE SAD NEWS.

Hello,
Grace and peace. Its unfortunate that I have to report another news to you.
That has really shattered me and my plans and hopes for ministry.
While we are still having tensions and sleepless nights from the ethnic wars, robbers and kidnappers are on the increase also giving us sleepless night.pains and destroying our jobs and resources

Just when I was thinking of getting more sewing machines for the Jebbu women center because I have 30 women for sewing alone, while over 30 are for farming, catering and literacy.
and for the over 40 children learning sewing in the technical school, were we are hoping for at least 5 sewing machines.

I had only two working machines, serving the students and the women, I was hoping for 2 or 3 more to serve the women and 5 for the school children.
, unfortunately just yesterday two nights ago thieves broke in through the ceiling and stole the heads of the sewing machines leaving only the legs (I mean the foot pedal) as you can see in the picture. they broke into many other shops around us also.
It is a shame that our center is directly opposite the police station around 50 meters away but this happened and the police did not hear nor see the thieves to catch them. Now I am really stranded, we are grateful to God that they didn't touch any of us though, I am also grateful that the children are away on holidays till the end of September. it is the women that I cannot help now. but they understood and have been sympathizing with me.
Please pray for our country and all that is happening to us.
Sorry for sending such discouraging news, I thought you should know everything I am doing. I really feel ashamed of my people behavior despite the help we are rendering. the machine is for them to come and learn skills but they decided to steal and sell them.
this life is abit control in Binchi village about 30 miles away where we have the Juvenile empowerment center. But Jebu is a bigger town almost semi urban and being an army barracks settlement. seems to be the cause of most of the crises here.there are different tribes from all over Nigeria and the world residing here.
My regards to all your families.
