The opening ceremony for Dagom Geden Kunyob Ling was held on October 22, 2016 in Herron-Morton. As a Buddhist monastery, its mission is to provide a place for meditation and the study of the Dharma.This is particularly important since the mundane world is increasingly a source of suffering for so many people. The pressures of urban life, given the increase in violence and discord found in this set

ting, make the study of Buddhism an important tool for a more peaceful world. Therefore, our wish is to provide practical methods to reduce the stress and the sufferings associated with living life in an urban context; we do this by making Tibetan Buddhism intelligible and accessible to a Western audience. The monastery is open to all, regardless of sexual orientation, racial and ethnic background, economic status, or intellectual ability.
