After listening to "That NAMS Podcast" our brand weakness is not a lack of Apostolic Zeal or a lack of Focus on the Gospel, but we need to give room for Apostolic Power. Paul wrote "our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit" 1 Thes 1:5. Are you praying for a move of God in your work, your gatherings or discipleship meetings?

It is good to remember Church Planters that have gone before. Bishop Philander Chase was one. Wikipedia say "Philander Chase (born Dec. 14, 1775 died Sept. 20, 1852) was an influential American Episcopal bishop, educator, and frontier pioneer who founded Kenyon College and Jubilee College." Wherever he went he started new schools or churches. Pray for a new generation of "Starters". Learn from the past and pray for the future.

Bishop Jackson Kemper (1789-1870) was a church planting clergy whose role was to develop new churches in the Northwest Territories in the mid 1800's. He was a "Missionary Bishop" charged to call, equip and consecrate, and oversee missionary priest before there were dioceses. We need diocesan bishops, but we also need focused missionary bishops or equivalents for the work of establishing new Anglican fellowships. I rejoice in seeing a new generation of Church Planting leaders in the ACNA commissioned as "Church Planting Canons". We need one in every diocese, but they should be released and empowered as Missionary Bishops to accomplish the expansive work like their forerunner Jackson Kemper.

Kulchar Summer Newsletter -

The goal of starting 5 new churches in 5 years is still before us.  But the target is not really establishing churches or making Anglicans, but making devoted followers of Jesus.  I was reminded that no strategy or effort assures us of hitting our target.  The church growth we are praying for is ...

We are going to try a new Twice-a-Month initiative this fall. We will have our simply Anglican Eucharist at 4pm on the 2nd and 4th Sunday. Our goal is to be diligent in prayer and worship. Pray for strong Biblical teaching and the support of one another in gospel living and work.

This Sunday August 9th is our next service.

Sermon on Matthew 14:22-33 about Jesus walking on water. "He Walked for Them". What will be our challenge?
