Norma Dartis feels gratitude for Pastor Kimberly Tyler thanks to her compassion for her congregation. Norma said that “Pastor Tyler is a shepherd that does not want any of her sheep to be lost. This is accomplished by explaining the Word. Pastor Tyler is a visionary as she continually addresses the challenges of today's society.”

As they embark on the next chapter of their lives, we pray that the lessons learned within these church walls continue to guide them. We pray that they remember the values of kindness, love, and service that have been instilled in them since their early days.

Homelessness in the Lawrence community and surrounding areas continue to rise, and calls for help to Family Promise of Greater Indianapolis are higher than ever! There are far too many children and parents who sleep without a bed. 😢

Support our LUMC local missions team and raise/donate funds to help Family Promise expand its apartment shelter program for families in need.

We also invite YOU and your family to join the LUMC SLEEPOUT and spend a night without a bed on Saturday May 6th, 2023—in your car, on your sofa, on your floor, in a treehouse, in a tent in your yard–to remember those who can’t choose to. Have fun and be creative while helping those in need. Get the whole family involved and ask your friends and family to sponsor you through online donations. Share your experiences on social media using the hashtag

If you’re lucky, the answer is no.  But Family Promise has sheltered families previously sleeping in cars, park pavilions, even abandoned houses.  There are far too many children and parents who sleep without a bed.
