Congratulations to Emma Preuschl Crayner, OLL Class of 1999!
Emma Preuschl ’03 Crayner has spent her life turning obstacles into opportunities. Born with Erb’s palsy, she excelled as a student leader and athlete at Cathedral and Purdue University Rowing Club before earning a spot on the U.S. Paralympic Rowing Team. She represented Team USA at both the 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Paralympic Games, bringing home a silver medal and competing at the highest level of her sport at multiple World Championship's.

Beyond her athletic achievements, Emma has inspired countless students and audiences by sharing her story of perseverance, faith, and determination as an Athlete Ambassador on behalf of the United States Olympic and Paralympic organization. She also served as a leader by representing Paralympic Summer Sports Athletes on the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee Athlete Advisory Council. In addition to her athletic leadership roles, she balanced work and rowing training for international competition with grace and determination. Her willingness to embrace challenges, push beyond expectations, and encourage others to do the same has made her a role model both on and off the water.
Her journey reflects the perseverance, faith, and determination that have defined her life. She remains an inspiring example of the impact Cathedral graduates can have when they meet challenges with courage and purpose.
