This past Sunday, we had the joy of honoring and celebrating the 10 graduates of our Activate Ministry Internship Program!
Activate is a one-year commitment for adults 18 and older designed to help participants grow deeper in Christ while being equipped for ministry and leadership—and throughout the year, these interns truly lived out CONNECT • EQUIP • REACH.
They CONNECTED more deeply with God and one another through Scripture, prayer, communion, encouragement, and countless hours spent together in His presence.
They were EQUIPPED through hands-on ministry training—developing and leading ministries, creating policies and procedures, preparing and presenting sermons, producing weekly devotional and prayer videos, completing a variety of ministerial assignments, serving throughout the church, and participating in mission projects.
And they were challenged to REACH beyond the walls of the church by planning and carrying out a community outreach from the ground up, serving others, praying with people, and putting the gospel into action.
We also want to recognize our Student Ministries Director, Marcela Hughes, who led this class exceptionally well. Marcela developed the curriculum, met with the interns weekly, invested in each of them personally, and poured countless hours of love, prayer, encouragement, and even tears into their lives. She challenged them, believed in them, celebrated them, and was one of their greatest supporters throughout this journey. Marcela, thank you for loving, leading, and equipping them so faithfully!🤍
During Sunday’s celebration, Jayson Jones shared an encouraging and inspirational message with the graduates, reminding them of Paul’s words to Timothy: “Let no one despise your youth…” (1 Timothy 4:12). He encouraged them not to allow anyone to discount what God has called them to do because of their age. God is the One who calls and equips. Our responsibility is to remain prepared, faithful, and willing to be used by Him. Jayson also had the honor of presenting each graduate with their certificate.
Each graduate received a personal communion set, an anointing oil bottle in a wooden holder, and an NFC wristband that opens a daily Bible verse, prayer, or encouraging message when tapped with a smartphone—simple tools to help them continue growing in Christ and sharing His Word with others.
Following the service, we celebrated with a reception featuring delicious cakesicles by Maeci Ray, the owner of Two Little Crumbs Creations.
To our Activate graduates: we honor you, appreciate you, and pray God’s continued blessing and direction over your lives as you continue to CONNECT, EQUIP, and REACH wherever He leads you next.
