Following this weekend’s flooding, IMPD wants to remind our community to stay alert for scams. Unfortunately, some individuals may try to take advantage of the situation by pretending to be government disaster relief contractors. Their goal is often to collect personal information or ask for money.

Please be cautious, double‑check credentials, and don’t hesitate to report anything that feels suspicious. Staying aware helps protect you, your family, and your neighbors.

If you need support or resources related to recent flooding, visit:
https://www.indy.gov/activity/flood-resources.

If you suspect fraud, please contact IMPD’s non‑emergency line at (317) 327-3811.

Dealing with flood damage can be overwhelming. What do you even do with the debris in your yard and the damaged items in your home?

The city set up dumpsters in three neighborhoods that were hit hardest by the flood. You can get rid of flood-related debris, including tree branches, at these dumpsters.

For electronics, you can take the damaged items to Dock 1 at RecycleForce, 816 N. Sherman Drive.
