Saturday post on Brother Jerry Owens update:
Jerry said that today is his best day ever. He has been up two times. He did physical therapy and feels a lot better today. The doctor was in this morning and he put in the order for Jerry to go to rehab, which is here in the hospital, but up on the seventh floor we are waiting for that to happen.
The doctor said when he opened Jerry up it was a mess in there. He said his colon was all twisted and obstructed. Also, he had a very hard time because of all of Jerry’ scarred tissue from all of his other surgeries so he had to make the choice of cutting out between eight and 10 inches of his colon and giving him the colostomy.
We appreciate all of your prayers and we can see God is moving and working and helping Jerry to progress.

Sister Sandy provided an update on Brother Jerry:

The doctor has been in already today to see Jerry. He is pleased that his vitals look good and that his white blood cells also look good. He said they’re watching the white blood cells to make sure no infection has set in. They are giving him semi solid food not liquid, but they’ve moved it up to like a creamed soup and and pudding and stuff like that to eat so he’s had a pretty good day and we are so thankful for all the prayers going up for him.
Fausto from Ecuador called him today and talked to him and told him that the church down there and another church that we knew are all praying for Gerry so that was good. Tomorrow PT will come and work with Jerry a little bit so just keep praying that he’ll get healed fast and have the strength that he needs. Thank you so much.

Brothers and Sisters,
Please be in prayer for Brother Jerry Owens. This from Sandy just now:
Jerry underwent emergency surgery yesterday due to bowel obstruction. The Dr had to do a colostomy due to the severity of the situation. He had a large amount of bleeding during the surgery.
He is in ICU.
Physical therapy came today to set him up but the pain was excruciating. Please pray for his recovery. With having IBM and amyloidosis and an extremely large new scar his recovery will be painful. Please continue to pray that God will guide us in the days ahead.
