Good morning Trinity. I wanted to praise the LORD this morning! God answered our unspoken prayer request and the answer was YES!

Susan and I tried to follow God’s plan for prayer. Pray without ceasing. Pray with others. Pray in faith believing. Pray in His will. Understand that the answer might be no. But God is good and answered our prayer.

Yeah! See you in church tomorrow. Church only for now. Therefore, I’ll continue to post the Sunday school lesson for now.

Today’s lesson is a microcosm of Man’s relationship with God. Will we obey God or do what we want? (vv. 8-10) God communicates God’s will to the king-surrender to the Babylonians. This is an odious choice to the king and his people, but it God’s will. Only by taking the less desirable path does God guarantee life. The other choice guarantees death!

There are two main takeaways here. First, is that in order to have life, Israel must obey God. The second is that if had obeyed God all along, they wouldn’t be in the predicament that they were in!

The lesson for is is to obey God. Jesus said that we can have life and that more abundantly! Failing that wisdom, obey God and receive both His grace and mercy.

May God bless you and the message. Amen.

Continuing our study in the book of John, we stay with the woman at the well. One take away has to do with evangelism. Jesus met this woman and confronted her about her sin. She was evasive, but Jesus persisted. He wasn’t trying to be mean, but rather cared about her soul. After being confronted, she recognized her sin. After that, she went and told people about Jesus. Here we have God’s plan for evangelism.

Good morning Trinity,
We ARE going to have church, and CHURCH ONLY this Sunday. It will be different for a while. Personal contact, spacing, masks, etc. The main thing is if you are running a fever or are feeling sick, you should probably stay home and return when the fever is gone.
See you Sunday ay 10:30!

Hello,
I just wanted to let you know that I installed a chain blocking access to the rear parking lot. I am posting a picture of some of the trash, but there was much more. It looks like some handyman or someone doing a home renovation didn’t want to take their trash to the dump. They dumped it in our parking lot instead. The TVs will not be easy to get rid of. The other trash filled our trash can!

Today’s message has to do with God’s sense of smell. The first is the sweet savor of the smell of the prayers of the saints. During this unprecedented event, let us not only pray for one another, but also this serves as a wake up call to unbelievers that God is in control and that they should repent and trust in Jesus!

The second smell in the Lord’s nostrils is the stench of sin. God opened my eyes this week as to how he sees sin and is disgusted by it. If I, if you as redeemed sinners are repulsed by sin, how much more a holy and righteous God? This same God gave His only begotten Son that through His death and resurrection made it possible for us to be redeemed. How odious must the blatant and ongoing sin of mankind be to Him?

A wise man once said that if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s probably a duck! So let me preface this next section by saying two things. I have no direct knowledge that what I suspect is true, but the inference is clear. Second, this illustration focuses on the situation that is before me now. All sin is odious to God. Whether it’s blasphemy, idolatry, lying, stealing, coveting, fornication, adultery or any other sin, it is an abomination to God!

Someone that I know is practicing a sinful lifestyle on a nearly daily basis. Individuals who I assume to be ‘lovers’ come and go. The are there for a couple of hours or for the night and then they are gone for a while. The next day, a different one is there and then they are gone. The frequency of the ‘rotation’ has increased as of late. One can only imagine what sinful practices are being performed!

Every day, I see it. It is disgusting! The point of this message is not whether I am a busybody Pharisee peeking in windows to catch someone in the act of adultery. The point of the message is that if this lifestyle sickens me, how much more must it sicken a holy and righteous God? How long will He tolerable this abomination? It’s consistent and ongoing. It’s not only unrepentant, it “in your face”. By today’s standard, I am some kind of intolerant bigot or have some kind of “phobia”. My point is that by God’s standard, this and many other behaviors, are sin. It IS sin, it WAS sin and it will ALWAYS BE sin! In the end, God will judge ALL sinners and the unrepentant, those REJECT God will be cast into the lake of fire. God cannot and will not accept or tolerate sin of any kind. It is only His grace and mercy that stays His mighty hand from destroying sinners right now.

What does this mean for believers? We need to realize that we were once sinners before God and equally deserving of judgment and justice. We therefore should pray all the harder for sinners of every “stripe” that they may realize their sin, repent of that sin, and receive Jesus Christ as their personal Savior! Let us send into heaven the sweet savor of our prayers. Let us remember that it was Abraham’s intercession that let God to agree not to destroy S***m and Gomorrah for the sake of 10 righteous people! Amen.

Good evening,
With things the way they are these days, we need a message of hope. This week’s Sunday school lesson gives us that hope. All of us can identify with the sinful shortcomings of Israel. The same God who was faithful in His promises to the Jews is faithful in His promises to us. The lesson that we must learn is that the Jews had to repent of their sin and strive to live a holy life. We too then must repent and do our best to live as Christ would have us to.

Good morning,
Our Bible study continues in John 4. Jesus needed to go to Samaria. This is a story that teaches us that Jesus meets us where we are. Many Christians “found” Jesus when they were in the midst of adversity. The truth is that Jesus is always “at the well” looking for us. The was great news for us and can be good news to the people that we know who are struggling. Many people are facing problems that are larger than they have ever faced before. Jesus will meet them where they are! Good news indeed!
