Faith United Church of Christ is a Jesus following, gay affirming and community serving church that believes when the Bible is read in context it always gives a life giving message. Our style is a blend of a smaller traditional church with more contemporary elements. Historically, Faith UCC came about as the result of a merger between Trinity and Second United Churches of Christ. You can see their

logos intertwined to form the Faith UCC logo. The history of those two predecessor churches can be traced back to the nineteenth and twentieth centuries with the immigration of western European populations into the Midwest. Long ago this church declared that:
The "avowed purpose" of this Church will be

the worship of the Triune God,
the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ,
the practice of loving service toward the needy,
the building of the Kingdom of righteousness,
the furtherance of Christian Unity, and
the promotion of Christian Fellowship.

Did you miss our Saturday food pantry? We have another one this Monday, August 17. Stop by and meet our friendly volunteers. Our shelves are pretty full of pantry staples and there was also some pretty good food left from our Saturday pantry so it will be a good haul if you can stop by.
Doors open at 9:30, you must be inside by 11:30 to be served. See you there!

We would love to welcome you at our monthly food pantry this Saturday, August 15. We have lots of yummy foods to share with our neighbors. No questions asked, no proof of need required. Address in photos.
In addition, if you have kids we have some awesome back-to-school bags that were packed with love by our Sunday School kids. These will be given to any kids who come to the pantry. Photo in comments.
Doors open at 9:30, come any time but of course, everything is while supplies last and you have to be checked in by 11:30 to be served.

You do not want to miss this Sunday!

For the past several weeks, our Worship Team has been preparing something a little different...TESTIFY! | A Homecoming Worship

This isn't just another Sunday service, it's an invitation to experience worship in a new way. Imagine settling into your favorite chair with a warm cup of coffee, surrounded by friends, sharing the songs that have shaped your life and the stories that have strengthened your faith. That's the spirit we're creating this Sunday.

Inspired by the warmth of a Gaither Homecoming, but with a contemporary Faith UCC twist, our Worship Team will be sharing not only the music we love, but the stories behind it. Because every favorite song has a story. Every story reveals God's faithfulness. And every one of us has something worth testifying to.

This worship is about less performance and more presence.
Less concert and more community.
Less watching...and more worshiping together.

So wear your Sunday best if that's your thing or come in your favorite jeans and T-shirt. Bring your coffee. Sing loudly (or quietly). Laugh. Reflect. Clap along. Raise your hands. Shout an "Amen." However you worship, you're invited to be fully yourself.

Because we believe God doesn't just meet us in sermons. God meets us in melodies, memories, laughter, stories, and the voices of ordinary people sharing an extraordinary God.

Come home this Sunday.

🌿 Tomorrow, We Worship a Little Differently. 🌿

Before we rest, we begin by walking.

Join us tomorrow at 10:30 AM for Walk in the Wilderness at Southeastway Park – Shelter #5, as we kick off our Summer Sabbath while Pastor Scott begins his sabbatical.

Together we'll sing, pray, reflect, and spend time discovering God's presence in the ordinary beauty of creation. Bring a lawn chair, a journal (or write in your bulletin), and a picnic lunch if you'd like to stay for fellowship afterward.

☀️ We'll be keeping an eye on the weather tomorrow morning. If summer storms decide to join us, we'll communicate any change of plans early Sunday morning and gather back at the church instead. Otherwise, expect to find us beneath the trees for a beautiful change of scenery as we worship together.

Sometimes all it takes is slowing down long enough to notice that God has been here all along.

We can't wait to walk with you.

In addition to food you will get a warm greeting and friendly folks helping you check in, shop, and get the food out to your car.
