One month ago, on Valentine's Day, Pastor Nancy Nyland-Murray and Bret Murray were married. Pastor Nancy is sharing pictures. Pastor Nancy and Bret express their thanks to their family, friends and their Bethany Church family who made this such a special day.

With sure and certain hope in the resurrection to eternal life through our Lord Jesus Christ, we share the news of the death of our brother in Christ, the Rev. Matt Geerdes.

We ask you to hold his family in your prayers during this difficult time, especially his wife, the Rev. Priscilla Geerdes, Assistant to the Bishop of the Indiana-Kentucky Synod, as well as all who loved him and were shaped by his ministry.

Information regarding services and opportunities to remember Rev. Geerdes will be shared as it becomes available. In the meantime, we invite you to keep the Geerdes family and all who grieve in your prayers.

First Sunday of Advent

Today we light the first candle, the Candle of Hope, as we begin our Advent journey together.

In the midst of darkness, we wait and watch for Christ, the light of the world. This season invites us to prepare our hearts, to slow down, and to make room for the hope that only God can bring.

“We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love be with us, Lord, even as we put our hope in you.” - Psalm 33:20-22
