Reverend Keith Turner’s Bio
Dear Beloved in Christ at University Heights UMC,
Grace and peace to you in the name of our risen Lord, Jesus
Christ!
It is with utmost joy that I write to you for the first time as your
newly appointed half-time associate pastor. As I begin this
sacred journey with you all, I do so in the radiant light of Easter. I
cannot help but see a beautiful parallel between the good news
of resurrection and the new chapter we are beginning together
as a congregation. We are each invited to step forward in faith,
trusting that God is already at work among us, preparing the
way.
Allow me to introduce myself more fully. I am Rev’d Keith Turner,
and it is a profound honor to be called to serve alongside you in
ministry. I hold degrees at Asbury University and Asbury
Theological Seminary, where my theological formation was
shaped by a deep love for the Church and a commitment to
faithful, thoughtful engagement with Scripture and tradition.
I have previously served as a chaplain at the University of
Evansville and then at Riverside, College Avenue, and
Community of Hope United Methodist Churches in Muncie. I
currently serve at Bethel United Methodist Church in Pike
Township, where I will continue to serve the other half of my
appointment.
On a personal note, I am grateful to share life with my husband
Patrick and our fur baby, an Australian Shepherd, named
Sidney. In my leisure time, I enjoy reading and writing,
photography, being the grill-master, exercising at Orangetheory
Fitness. Additionally, I am a pianist and organist. These are
constant sources of joy and support in my ministry.
I believe the Church is called to embody resurrection through
acts of mercy, justice, hospitality, and love. As I come among you,
I am eager to listen, to learn your stories, and to discern together
how God is calling this community forward. How might we,
together, bear witness to the hope of Christ in our
neighborhood and beyond?
I trust that, by the power of the Holy Spirit, this season of new
beginnings will be one marked by growth, deepening faith, and
shared joy.
In Easter hope,
Rev’d Keith A. Turner
