In Loving Memory of Elder Tawana “TT” Thompson
With profound sadness and hearts full of gratitude, we announce the passing of our beloved Elder Tawana “TT” Thompson, a faithful servant of God, devoted mother, teacher, and leader whose life was a beautiful reflection of love, service, and unwavering faith.
Elder Thompson faithfully served in many capacities throughout her years of ministry, including Teacher, Elder, National and Local Hospitality President, National and Local Sunday School Superintendent, and National and Local Nursing Board President. She poured her heart into God’s people, serving with compassion, wisdom, and excellence.
One of the most cherished memories of Elder Thompson will forever be her unwavering dedication to the ministry and the people of God. She could often be found sitting faithfully at Bishop Franklin’s feet, soaking up every ounce of wisdom, knowledge, and guidance he poured into her life. Her hunger for God and her desire to learn and grow in ministry were evident to all who knew her.
She also spent countless hours by Bishop Franklin’s side, joyfully serving and frying fish on his food truck, never seeking recognition but simply desiring to be a blessing. And when it came to hospitality, no one could do it quite like Elder Thompson. She lovingly prepared beautiful spreads for the saints to feast upon, ensuring that everyone felt welcomed, cared for, and nourished.
Beyond her acts of service, she leaves behind a legacy of mentorship. She taught so many young women how to nurse, how to serve, how to listen, and most importantly, how to walk in humility. Through her example, she demonstrated that true leadership is found in serving others with love, grace, and a humble heart.
Her legacy is one of selfless love, steadfast faith, and dedication to the Kingdom of God. She touched countless lives through her kindness, mentorship, prayers, and servant’s heart. Though she is no longer with us physically, the seeds she planted and the lives she impacted will continue to bear fruit for generations to come.
As she enters into eternal rest, she is now reunited with her beloved children who preceded her in death, her eldest daughter, La’Chelle Hall-Wilson, and her middle son, John Hall III, affectionately known as “Man-Man.” We find comfort in knowing that this family reunion is taking place in the presence of our Lord and Savior.
During this difficult time, we ask that you keep her youngest daughter, T’iara Johnson, and the entire family lifted in prayer. May God’s peace, strength, and comfort surround them in the days ahead.
The Word of God reminds us:
“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.” – Matthew 25:23
“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18
“To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” – 2 Corinthians 5:8
Elder Tawana “TT” Thompson’s life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her love a gift that will remain in our hearts forever. Though her hands are now at rest, her works continue to follow her, and her legacy of service, humility, and unconditional love will live on through every life she touched.
