Pro-Life Film and Lecture Series
Friday, November 15, “Babies Survive Abortions” (Lecture)
Come hear Melissa Ohden, founder and CEO of “Abortion Survivors Network,” share her story as an abortion survivor and Pro-Life speaker. Most people do not realize that sometimes abortion procedures fail, are stopped, or reversed (abortion pill), and survivors exist. In 1977 Melissa’s biological mother was an 19 year old college student when she had a saline infusion abortion that was meant to end Melissa's life. Although her biological mother thought that she was less than five months pregnant when she had the abortion, the fact that Melissa survived and weighed almost three pounds indicates that her biological mother was much further along in her pregnancy than she realized.
Join us at Holy Rosary in Priori Hall, doors open at 6:00pm with the lecture starting at 6:30pm. Pizza and salad provided by South of Chicago.
Freewill donations will be accepted.
Sponsored by the Pro-Life Ministries of Holy Rosary and St John Catholic Churches. For information email [email protected]

"What to Do with the Least of Our Brothers"
Friday, Sept. 15, at 6:30 p.m. in Priori Hall
Fr. McCarthy will deliver this lecture on in vitro
fertilization and embryo adoption at Holy Rosary. A
consultant on moral theology and ethics for the
Archdiocese of Indianapolis, he will base his talk on
his published dissertation, “What to Do with the
Least of Our Brothers: Finding Moral Solutions to
the Problem of Endangered Embryos.” It will detail
the process of IVF by which babies are manufactured in sterile facilities, tested for their fitness for
life in the world, and in their embryonic stage often
set aside, freeze dried and abandoned or destroyed
when they don’t meet the standards set for a child.
Is it then acceptable for rejected embryos to be rescued by adoption? Copies of his book will be available for purchase after the lecture. Doors open at 6
p.m. Pizza from South of Chicago will be provided.
