Yesterday Union Chapel Indy voted to merge with Epworth United Methodist Church, effective April 4, 2026. We celebrate God’s goodness in guiding us to this partnership and making a way for a future overflowing with possibility. Thank you to leadership and congregations of both churches for all of the grace, kindness, and generosity that has culminated in this historic moment.

As we begin the sacred season of Lent, we invite you to join us for a meaningful Ash Wednesday service at Epworth. This quiet and reflective time of worship will include prayer, scripture, and the imposition of ashes as we turn our hearts toward God and prepare for the journey to Easter.

Ash Wednesday invites us to pause, to remember who we are, and to refocus on what matters most. Whether you have observed Lent for many years or this is your first time, there is a place for you here.

Come as you are. Bring your questions, your hopes, your burdens, and your prayers.

On Sunday, Feb. 1st, it was announced at Epworth UMC's Annual Meeting that we were going to start a process of prayer and discernment regarding a merger with Union Chapel UMC here in Indianapolis.
