The Right Tool for the Right Job

This morning while working out of my truck, I reached for a wrench and realized something simple but powerful. Not every wrench fits every bolt. You can try forcing the wrong wrench onto the wrong bolt all day long, but it will only strip things out, damage something, or leave you frustrated.

You need the right tool for the right job.

And honestly, life can feel the same way sometimes.

We try to handle spiritual battles with fleshly reactions. We try to fix deep wounds with temporary solutions. We try to force doors open that God never intended for us to walk through. Then we wonder why everything feels difficult and exhausting.

But God knows exactly what tool is needed for every season of your life.

Sometimes God uses pressure to shape us. Sometimes He uses waiting to strengthen us. Sometimes He uses trials to build faith and character inside of us. What feels uncomfortable may actually be the exact thing God is using to prepare you for what is ahead.

Philippians 1:6 says, And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

God knows what He is doing. He knows what needs tightened, what needs repaired, and what needs replaced in our lives. And unlike us, God never reaches for the wrong tool.

So today, stop trying to force things in your own strength. Trust the hands of the Master. The God who created you knows exactly how to work on your life.

God Knows Where Everything Is

This morning while I was digging through my work truck grabbing tools, a thought hit me. To somebody else, my truck would probably look like complete chaos. They would open the toolbox and have no clue where to even start looking. But for me? I know exactly where everything is. I know what drawer holds what tool. I know what compartment has the parts I need. What looks messy to somebody else actually has order because I’m the one who organized it.

And immediately I thought, that is exactly how life feels sometimes.

There are seasons where life looks confusing. Plans change. Doors close. Problems pile up. Things happen that we do not understand. From our perspective it can feel disorganized and overwhelming. We start wondering, “God, what are You doing?”

But God is not confused by your life.

God knows exactly where everything is. He knows every burden you are carrying. He knows every prayer you have prayed. He knows every delay, every struggle, every opportunity, and every victory that is coming down the road. Nothing catches Him off guard.

What feels messy to us is not messy to God.

He is orchestrating things behind the scenes that we cannot yet see. He is lining up people, opportunities, lessons, and breakthroughs in ways only He can. God sees the full picture while we only see one piece at a time.

Romans 8:28 (ESV) says, “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”

So today, do not lose heart just because life feels uncertain. Do not panic because you cannot see how everything fits together. The God who holds the universe together knows exactly where you are and exactly where He is leading you.

Trust the One who already knows the outcome.
