Shirlean and I are having breakfast in Shipshewana, Indiana, at the Blue Gate Motel. We wanted a day to get away for some relaxation and to see the beautiful Amish countryside. A slow day to just visit and meet new people. Passed out several of our Faith Family and Freedom tracts.

We have seen some old friends and the fellowship is even better. But, I must not forget the great food and the opportunity to do very little, but enjoy each other’s company.

Assessing the primary elections from yesterday gives cause to analysis of where we are in the culture today.
It appears that when we think the candidates could not be more scurrilous, they are.

When the people decide that they can vote for the candidate who promises them the most from the public treasury, we are headed for serious trouble.

It is reported that just 6% of the people have a Biblical worldview, and so many have given up on church, it is not surprising then that people will support a candidate with their votes, regardless of what they advocate.

And, we will finally vote for things we once hated simply because we have gotten used to them. Remember, by definition, democracies only last on average of about 250 years. The statistics are not pleasant, are they?

But for the believers, don’t get “shook up”, but look up, as we anticipate His glorious appearing.

Pastor Ralph Sexton says “we need to get in the Bible and then get the Bible in us.” I wholeheartedly agree with that, and then stress the hope of the church is the imminent appearing of the Lord. That is the Blessed Hope.

While here, may we recognize the false teachers who will deny the Lord and His glorious return for His bride. And the Lord has not cast away the nation of Israel, in the process, nor will he do so.

The church has not replaced the apple of His eye, his earthly covenant people, the nation of Israel. Everything will work out according to His Divine Plan.

That should motivate each one of us to work till Jesus comes and then be gathered home. That is the permanent residence for all who know Him as personal Savior.

Please pray for me to be an encourager and, more importantly, to be honest in my convictions to speak truth to error in a world that increasingly accepts lies, deception, and evil as the new normal.

Folks cannot be that gullible. If common sense is no longer important and when folks are unconcerned, what do we expect?

It has been said that our country will be destroyed not from without, but from within, and I believe it. Ignorance and apathy ( I don’t care as long as I get by ), will prove we are already unraveling. The silent majority cannot stay silent. We must be alert, sober and vigilant.

The home must be a priority. It cannot be emphasized too strongly. Our children must be taught and shown the values of a love and respect for others and what made us who we were in the first place.

Today is my dad’s birthday. H. E. Phipps was born on May 28, 1891, in Wayne County, Kentucky, on the Little South Fork. This was a long time ago. He died May 5, 1971. I was only 29 years old.

A man of limited education but a learned man for his day and time. He loved to read and to educate himself. He was unwilling to accept an opinion just because someone else had said it.

I am constantly reminded of the simplicity of my roots but I cherish each day to be a better man and a help to others.

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders is normally 180 degrees from my thinking, but I saw a post that captured my attention.

He was speaking about A I. Automatic Intelligence, and some probabilities of its impact upon all of us. I am giving my perspective on this while admittedly acknowledging that I, including many others, probably do not know enough about this to be a credible source of information.

I think that, like the recent interest in UFO’S, are now part of the events that will come fast and furious. We are ushering in a new era where robots will replace workers; they will be smarter and will have capabilities to make us slaves to their technology. If it can be conceived in a laboratory, it will become reality.

Medicine, the cultural arts and sciences, will have to bow to its impact. This will not just affect our part of the globe, but the whole world.

For example, what about weapons of destruction? How will we deal with these threats when we no longer have control over them?

Our Lord has everything under control and we need to look up!! I can only imagine what the judgement of God will be like when believers are taken out of here.

Trust Christ today while you have the opportunity, if you have not done so already!!!

If there has ever been a time for ministers to speak truth to error, from the pulpits, it surely must be now. “Craziness” is at the front of the line. Most people will say that they have never seen or heard anything like it. People are as “nutty” as a fruit cake. Just look around and see. And, then, listen to what folks say!!

Preachers must have a backbone like a saw horse in today’s culture. So many of our forbears gave their all, even death, to not compromise what the Bible calls evil. They declared openly that the Bible was the rule and guide of faith. They believed the Bible and practiced its precepts accordingly, with a world view in mind.

It is dare some now to call sin out. We are called every name under the sun by the God haters, Christ deniers and Holy Spirit rejectors. And, please don’t tell me that we cannot mention it from the pulpits. I hear this so often and it is ridiculous.

There is no topic, no subject, no issue that is outside the confines of God’s inerrant and infallible Word. When did we decide to tiptoe through the tulips?

Families and friends may not like the message but that should not keep us from calling it out loud and clear. We hear folks say, tell them how to die, and I understand where they are coming from. But, I say, let’s tell them “HOW TO LIVE!!” It can make all the difference in the world, even if it is just one person.

Proverbs 22:8 “Remove not the ancient landmarks which thy fathers have set.”

This poster inviting people to the services yesterday in Revelo, Kentucky, were held in the brand new sanctuary and it is beautiful. It shows very well the work and dedication of this church family.

Pastor Mark Sewell and the congregation prepared and planned a great day of honoring veterans and the memories of those who have served our nation: including first responders.

It could not have been better. Then, the Rogers Family from North Carolina hit it out of the park with tremendous singing and were a blessing to the service last night.

The children’s choir, the decorations, and the organization behind the worship day, were so evident. Shirlean and I were so happy to be a part of it. And, special friends came to be a part of it and made it extra special. An amazing day. God blessed us.
