I have been studying about the upcoming events especially as they relate to the nation of Israel. As we study the history of this country and more so, from what the Bible tells us, there is coming a time that is described in Scripture as the Tribulation period.

The book of Ezekiel Chapter 38 and 39 give considerable insight as to future events. About everything the Christian identifies can be traced to the “apple of His eye”, the nation of Israel.

Jesus, Mary and Joseph, his adoptive father, all were Jewish. The patriarchs, the oracles, the Books of the Bible, (were written by Jews), the giving of the Law, all these have Jewish connections all over them.

But salvation is available to all who will call upon His name today, Jew or Gentile. However God has not cast away His people. But there remains a horrible time for the nations of the world, after Christ appears in the clouds for His bride.

The anti Semitism we see today is nothing to what is to come, when 200 million (perhaps China) in an army descend upon the nation of Israel. Yet, God will have them under his control.

We who are believers are about ready to take our flight. We will be out of here. Praise the Lord.

My friend Max Engling is seeking to become our next Indiana Secretary of State. He is a fine man and has a great family. Like so many Hoosiers he is a working, middle class person, who, unlike his opponent, does not have millions to spend on buying this election.

Why would Beau Bayh try to sound like a conservative candidate, when that has never been who his dad and grandfather were. I “googled” his dad Evan and found out that by his serving on large corporate boards, he made millions of dollars. Several big corporations.

It appears to the casual observer that no one would be running ads already that cost “big bucks” if the Secretary of State office was the ultimate goal.

No! Not by a long shot. The governorship looms on the horizon. Do not be fooled by slick commercials. “Hey, look him over” is for you to be aware of what is at stake.

Indiana has not become the financial example for the nation by endorsing socialist policies.

Socialism is all over the news. NEWS FLASH!! What do we know about it? First, its teachings go against human nature. For example, do you prefer to succeed or is your desire for the neighbor to do better? Would you prefer to have more money in your wallet, or do you actually want your friends to have more money in theirs?

Is competition better for everyone or should we remove incentives to spark better outcomes like making products, a better car or a safer one? A better shampoo or better toothbrush??

Do you think government does a better job of making life easier for people, or is it the opposite, giving more power to the consumer? Do you like having more freedom and having less red tape bureaucracy? Would you like to select your own doctor?

How do we incentivize inventors? People who come up with creativity, like a good coffee pot, a new medicine or a product that is making a better life for each one?

Should people be able to succeed? A “ Tiger” Woods, a Peyton Manning, an entertainer, should they be able to do well financially if the people support their accomplishments by purchasing tickets, or by their actions requiring approval?

In Russia they had the “Nomenklatura” the people who got the summer resorts on the Black Sea, these were the politically connected. Yet, if Socialism is actually practiced, everyone would receive according to their needs. It goes without saying, those at the top get the benefits. The government knows best.

Socialism does not focus attention on helping to create more jobs, more wealth, but solely upon how can they distribute or allocate what you have produced.

Why do the proponents of Socialism like Bernie Sanders not distribute some of their wealth? He is a millionaire plus, but wants to share everyone’s else money.

Today is Labor Day. From what I can gather this day is to recognize the common laborer in this country going back to a tradition that commenced in New York City on September 5, 1882. The middle man in this group is my friend, Ralph Gregory.

Ralph was born in Wayne County, Kentucky, and came, like so many others, to Muncie, Indiana, in the early 1950’s, to find work. If anyone would be a poster picture for Labor Day, it could be Ralph Gregory.

Ralph worked in the Hammer Plant of Broderick Company which made forgings for Caterpillar and other companies. This kind of work was heavy, dirty and dangerous. The heat of the work was oppressive especially in the hot months of summer.

I have seen Ralph when it looked like every bit of strength had left his body: Hollow eyed, and work most men would refuse to do. But, it was piecework and you got better pay for more production. And the biggest motivator for Ralph was love of his family.

He did not want them to have to endure what he felt that was necessary for him. Love for Bible discussions, baseball and family get togethers were the enjoyment he sought.

As a side note, Ralph paid the first month’s rent for the store front building on South Walnut Street, right among where most of the taverns were located, and from which grew most of the local Baptist churches, and who knows where that influence may have gone?

Unfortunately his retirement years consisted of just one year basically. He left this world as a relatively “not too old” a person, but I salute him for what he represented: Faith Family and Freedom.

Happy Labor Day to all who still believe that work has dignity. And, this is Andrew Phipps.

This past Tuesday, September 1, 2026, one hundred ninety two (192) Democratic members voted “NO” to a resolution condemning Socialism “in all its forms.”

Eight Democrats voted with all of the Republican members to pass the resolution with a 220 votes total. Two Democrats voted “present”; thus not being recorded as for or against.

This being 58 days from the Midterms should tell us all we need to know. I guess if you want “Socialists” to be making the laws, then you have it where you can see for themselves.

Remember the words of Ronald Reagan who said many years ago that some of the scariest words one might hear are these:
“I am here from the government and I am here to help.”

May the Lord have mercy on us, is my prayer. I can only imagine as the late Paul Harvey might have said, “And that is “NOT” the rest of the story.”

I, too, get so frustrated with the chaos that is so evident today in our society. It makes no sense to those of us, especially, we, who have been around for a while.

The prophet Ezekiel stated the Lord’s declaration, “And I sought for a man who would make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me in the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.”

This is Old Testament Israel. I just wonder if we have very many people left today who are willing to stand regardless of the consequences, and endure the fallout that usually goes with it?

Popularity and the requirement for self gratification seem to prevent us from doing what we know to do best. We try every way possible to not offend the stupidity that is so evident.

Like the story, “The Emperor Wore No Clothes”, a little boy was the only one who had enough clarity to speak what needed to be said. Others crouched behind not being thought of as being politically correct to speak truth to the situation. The people saw it for what it was, but were too terrified to say it.

With most people not having a Biblical worldview, it appears that we have entered into George Orwell’s “Animal Farm”, where the animals get priority on the answers to the problems because they have taken over.

May God give us some Holy Boldness in the days to come. We certainly need it.

The Congress has become a joke. The House was in session from August 31 until today, September 3rd, in this last meeting. Four days. The House met prior to that for the last day on July 23rd and actually missed the month of August.

Now they will not return until November 9th after the Midterms, skipping most of September and all of October.

This means for the year 2026 they met formally for 103 days total. And, some senior members in all probability met for less days than that.

We could not get the Save Act done, insuring honest elections passed, although more than 80% of Americans want it. Senator John Thune gives excuse after excuse, and we are no closer than when we started. It is definitely the “sewer in DC” and no one can fix it.

Just recently I asked a member of the Indiana delegation about the possibility of term limits. By a whopping margin, the people have been seeking that for years and years. But, not a chance evidently, according to him.

His response was, we can’t get that done. I am thinking, why don’t you and others beat the drum for it anyway? Do your part regardless of what others may do that have been in there for decades. But, the leaders in the caucus will not allow it to happen is the usual response.

We have a $ 40 trillion dollars debt. Social Security will not be solvent in just a few years, but campaigns come first. And, I understand the importance of the Midterms but I readily understand why the approval ratings for the Congress are in the tanks.

Two months from now and we have the “Mid Terms.” Supposedly we should then have some kind of decision as to the direction the American people want to take. So much is at stake. This cannot be over emphasized too strongly. Our Faith, our Family and our Freedoms hang in the balance.

This national election will prove whether our great Republic shall have an opportunity to prove itself worthy of a future continuation, or will it be that another Civil War is coming to our shores?

I pray that God will continue to shed His grace upon us. We do not deserve it. “But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound”, so says my King James Bible.

Those who spew their socialist ideology and believe that America is to blame for the world’s upheaval and are comfortable with Muslims taking control of this land, are enemies of what made us great in the first place, and are not content to simply immigrate to our shores, they want to infiltrate and then dominate.

If you consider yourself to be a patriot and especially a Christian nationalist, vote and influence friends and family to do likewise. We must not allow those who hate Christ, our Constitution, and our Civilization to fall into the hands of reprobates.

About a year ago I visited an old cemetery where many of my folks are buried. Some monuments are discolored from age and deterioration. It occurs to me oftentimes of the brevity of life. One generation leaves and another generation comes after them.

I guess the question becomes: Should we try to be good benefactors for others, or is the ancestry we leave behind, one that is soon destined for obscurity?

The philosopher Macaulay said: “Those who take no pride in the noble achievements of remote ancestors will never do anything worth being remembered by remote descendants.”

May we work realizing that except the Lord build the city, the workmen workeths but in vain. Yet, the Lord’s work on earth must truly be our own.

Inconsistencies amaze us. Saying one thing and doing another. Getting upset with those who question their assertion that a man is a woman, but then saying that a woman cannot be identified.

Wanting hand outs for everyone but that does not include the person who is asking, to be included in the giving list. Wanting people who work hard and achieve to be taxed more on their earnings, but feeling that by not working, you are still entitled to part of their earnings.

Labeling Christians as idiotic, but believing that if it involves a Bible verse, just ask for their opinion. Do not ask a preacher for possible interpretations, just ask someone who never enters the door of a church.

Going along with the idea of paying a heavy fine for killing a bald eagle egg, but comfortable with killing a baby right up to delivery.

Asking for reparations for descendants of slaves, but not knowing anyone who owned slaves, were not slaves themselves, but over looking the thousands of white soldiers who died trying to free slaves.

And those who feel it is okay to incentivize illegals coming into this country with all kinds of goodies, but have an opinion that an illegal just means we do not know who they are and where they are.

Inconsistencies!! Interesting isn’t it?
