Armstrong Chapel United Methodist Church

Armstrong Chapel United Methodist Church Armstrong Chapel United Methodist Church is a Welcoming Community Alive in Serving Christ!

Armstrong Chapel United Methodist Church began with the building of a small rectangular church in 1831. While this historic chapel continues to be home to an active congregation, attendance grew significantly and a new building was opened across the street in the 1950s. Additional services, both traditional and contemporary, are offered in the larger and expanded (2010) church.

🎉 Happy Birthday, Rebekah! 🎉

Today we celebrate Rebekah, our wonderful Administrative Assistant and a cherished part of the Armstrong Chapel family.

Rebekah serves with grace, dedication, and a heart for others. Whether she's welcoming visitors, helping members, supporting staff, or keeping countless details organized, she does it all with kindness and faithfulness. Her steady presence and servant heart help make Armstrong Chapel a place where people feel cared for and connected.

We are so grateful for the many ways she shares her gifts and lives out her faith through service. Rebekah, your compassion, wisdom, and commitment to God's work are a blessing to everyone around you.

As you celebrate another year, may God fill your life with joy, peace, and abundant blessings. May He continue to guide your steps and remind you how loved and appreciated you are.

🎉 Happy Birthday, Shanon! 🎉

Today we celebrate our incredible Director of Communications, Shanon!

Shanon has a unique gift for helping people stay connected—to the life of the church, to one another, and ultimately to the message of Christ. Through her creativity, attention to detail, and dedication behind the scenes, she helps tell the story of what God is doing at Armstrong Chapel every day.

We are grateful for the many ways she uses her talents to serve the church and share hope, encouragement, and information with our congregation and community. Her work often happens quietly behind the scenes, but its impact is felt throughout our ministry.

As you celebrate another year, Shanon, may God continue to bless you with wisdom, joy, strength, and peace. May He guide your steps, renew your spirit, and remind you how deeply appreciated you are.

"Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." — Matthew 5:16

Join us in wishing Shanon a very happy birthday! 🎂💙🎉

As United Methodists gather for Annual Conference, Bishop Cynthia Moore-Koikoi offers a timely reminder: God is often found in places we least expect—if we are willing to look. In moments of joy and struggle, in acts of service and kindness, in worship and community, God is present and at work.

At Armstrong Chapel, we invite you to pause and reflect: Where are you looking for God? May we have eyes to see Him moving in our lives, our church, and our community, and hearts open enough to follow where He leads.

Volunteers are the hands and feet of Christ in action. 💛
Whether it’s serving a meal, welcoming children, decorating classrooms, grilling food, praying, encouraging, or simply showing up — every act of service matters and helps share the love of Jesus in a real and lasting way.

Right now, we have two important opportunities where we need our church family to step in and serve:

🌭 IPM Summer Picnic Outreach
Help prepare and serve meals to our neighbors through our mission partner, Inter Parish Ministry, on Monday, June 1 from 9:15 AM–12:15 PM.

🐸 VBS 2026: Rainforest Falls
We cannot have VBS without volunteers! From decorating and prep to leading kids and helping behind the scenes, there’s a place for everyone to serve as we help children discover how to love like Jesus.

When we serve together, faith comes alive.
Thank you for being a church that continues to love, give, and make a difference in our community and beyond.

🇺🇸 This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice reminds us that freedom is never free, and we are deeply grateful for the courage, selflessness, and love they carried for others.

We also lift up in prayer those who are currently serving and those in the midst of battle, conflict, and uncertainty around the world. May God surround them with protection, strength, wisdom, and peace, and may He comfort the families who wait and worry at home.

At Armstrong Chapel, we give thanks for the lives of those who served and for the enduring hope we have through faith — a hope that reminds us light shines even in seasons of grief and remembrance.

📖 “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13

May God bless and keep the memory of our fallen heroes. 🇺🇸

The doors are open…

There is something powerful about a church filled with prayer. Throughout the day, people will come carrying burdens, gratitude, questions, grief, hope, and faith—and God meets us in every part of it.

The Old Chapel remains open until 8:00 PM with self-guided prayer stations for reflection, Scripture, worship, intercession, and quiet listening. If your heart needs peace, direction, comfort, or simply a moment to breathe, there is a place for you here.

Whether you stay for five minutes or an hour, come as you are. Sit in the silence. Lay down what is heavy. Thank God for what He’s done. Ask Him for what only He can do.

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” — Colossians 4:2

🏡🇺🇸 What a powerful example of faith in action.

We want to recognize and celebrate the vision and heart behind the proposed tiny home village for veterans in Madisonville — a project that could become Hamilton County’s first permanent supportive tiny home community for veterans experiencing homelessness.

A special acknowledgment to Gaines United Methodist Church for their progressive thinking, generosity, and willingness to use their property in a way that directly impacts lives. This is the Church being the Church — creating spaces of dignity, healing, community, and hope.

The planned village will include tiny homes, gathering spaces, gardens, and even a dog park — all designed to help veterans not only find housing, but rediscover stability, connection, and belonging.

As veteran homelessness continues to rise in our community, we encourage everyone to pray for this mission, for the veterans who may one day call this place home, and for the partnerships and provision needed to bring it to life.

May this project remind us that when faith meets compassion and action, lives can truly be changed. If you are interested in financially supporting this cause, you will find the donation link in the story below.

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2

A vacant lot in Madisonville that has been empty for nearly 20 years could soon become Hamilton County’s first tiny home village for veterans, offering permanent supportive housing for those experiencing homelessness.
