Newness of Life Ministries (NOLM) Food Pantry Distribution Update – November 1, 2025
We are pleased to report that the NOLM Food Pantry distribution on November 1 was a tremendous success. By God’s grace, we received a total of 760 pounds of dry food items and 860 pounds of cold food items, allowing us to serve families in the Independence area with compassion and excellence.
A total of 21 households were served during this outreach, and we are actively preparing to support even more families in December as the need continues to grow. We are especially grateful to have filled the gap for SNAP recipients, ensuring that families facing delays or limitations in benefits still received the nourishment they needed.

When submitting your application, you may request to receive assistance specifically from the NOLM Food Pantry. We are honored to serve as a partner agency of Our Daily Bread Food Bank, working together to meet the needs of our community throughout Tangipahoa Parish.

You're cordially invited to join our small group bible study on Sunday Mornings via zoom at 10:00 a.m. Our next bible topic is "Holy Habits."
If you want to get healthier, there are certain habits that you need to make part of your life. Things like getting enough sleep, eating a diet with more fruits and vegetables, and working out. When these things become a habit to us, it leads us to a place of better health and makes it easier to maintain. The same is true for our spiritual lives as well. In this series, we are going to be looking at the things that should have a place in your life if you want to become spiritually healthy.

Good morning. We would like to share with you a few notes from our new sermon series and bible study from the book of Jude titled, "A Message to the Church." Jude’s short letter gives us two principles to help us stand firm in the face of false teaching and division.

Principle 1: Be Alert
How do we stay alert?
-Through prayer
-Be vigilant in worship
-By reading and studying the Bible.
Principle 2: Be United

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

The topic of our current bible study lesson is "When Anxiety Attacks." In part 1, we discussed Philippians 4:6-7
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. So, the pathway to peace is found through prayer and thanksgiving.

Tidbit from the small group study lesson Part 1, "THE PATHWAY TO PEACE":

Practice the following steps when you're feeling anxious and overwhelmed about a situation that you're experiencing:

Use the 5,4,3,2,1, prayerful grounding exercise.

• Take a deep breath. Then name 5 things you can see around you.
• Take a deep breath. Then name 4 things you can hear, smell, or touch.
• Take another deep breath. Then name 3 things you are thankful for today.
• Take a deep breath. Then name 2-character traits of God.
• Finally, ask God to bring you peace into this 1 present moment. Don’t get caught up in the future or the past. Just focus on connecting with God here and now. Now pray!!!
