Independence Ministerial Alliance Purpose

To encourage and support personal/professional growth through opportunities for fellowship, study and service. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The IMA is an interfaith and ecumenical organization of religious and community service leaders who meet on the second Thursday of each month (September through May) to better understand and serve the needs of the Independence, MO community. To foster understanding and information about one another and our various faith traditions. To engage in service with other community-serving organizations by

assisting with the formation of appropriate new organizations and supporting existing organizations. To initiate and support ecumenical worship services within the community such as the Community Thanksgiving Service, Rev. Celebration, City Council Prayers, Baccalaureate Service, Day of Prayer services, etc. To offer an avenue for the faith community to speak to issues within the community when those issues need a faith perspective.
