TRANSFER NEWS: 🚨🚨
sister hart and i are both being taken out of the YSA!! after 6 months im finally leaving. its bitter-sweet for sure, but at least i wont be getting hit on at church anymore! i had to pull out the "ok bud" card a lot. Im excited to see a new place! or an old one... plz send me back to far west prez 🙏

MAGGIES: 🕷🐇🍦🖌
we went over to our bestie maggies because she needed help painting her house.. so we went. i never have me fun than when im at maggies. we saw some spiders that were too big for comfort and pet some rabbits. we ate popsicles on the couch and made the kids jealous. then maggie gave us the most profound advice about missionary work. it was an answer to my prayers. ive been struggling for a few weeks and its like maggie could read my mind. she reminded me of the character of God, and how, just like Sister Runia mentioned in this last general conference, my worth remains the same to heavenly father even though i am not and will never be a perfect missionary. Sometimes all you need is a coconut popsicle, a good conversation and bunny therapy with maggie.

TEMPLE W SHIA, MEADOW AND MARISSA:
we had the opportunity to go to the temple with all of our recent converts! it was so so sweet. Shia and Meadow were able to get both of their parents temple baptism done and it was such a tender day! 💘

ADDICTED TO POWERADE🥤🥤:
its been SO HOT HERE. ive literally just been craving electrolytes so ive been downing the liquid IV and also an absurd amount of powerade.... we are talking like 74 ounces in one day...yeah... so anyways.

LAST LUNCH W KATHERINE: 🥪
we have been having lunch with our friend katherine once a week, every week for 6 months... we had our last one with her and it was SO SAD. she has this sweet lil boy named grayson and he is SO CUTE. pics on the album lol. it was a sad departure.

FIRST WEEK IN KCK (MILL CREEK): 🥷
we had transfers on wednesday and im now with Sister Shurtleff! I was her stl her first transfer in the mission and my first transfer in the YSA! and im now back in lenexa kansas after a long 6 months. im in Kansas City, Kansas instead of Kansas City, Missouri. who knew that a single road separating the 2 states could make such a difference. the homeless people are A DIFFERENT BREED HERE.... like seriously. this place is infested with crime and there are memorials of people who have died in shootings EVERYWHERE. (sorry mom. dont read if u dont want) there are some super nice parts of our areas but we work in the trenches and im loving it. in the last 3 days we have found 10 people to teach. we literally have 30 in our teaching pool 😵😵😵

craziest part of all of this is that even though im in a different area in the lenexa zone, im back at the same apartment, in the same bed and i have the same study desk i had when i was in lenexa in my 2nd and 3rd transfers 😃 God got jokes lol. i already know my way around this place. feels so weird. anyways.

this week i was lowkey on the struggle bus and my testimony of prayer really grew. i was worried about my ability to connect with old people again haha. i was worried about my teaching skills and being in a new (not so new) area. I legit always had a prayer on my heart and would pray with my comp all the time and holy smokes it works. we were having miracle after miracle and somehow i made it to monday so, cheers to the man upstairs 🙌🙌

i wanna tell yall about a few of our sweet friends. First is Erica. Erica is a firecracker. shes the sweetest lady and her daughter Tye'riigee just recently got baptized. satan has been working so hard on erica. (satan takes the form of her upstairs neighbor, amos) i told her to break up with him because if they arent growing closer to God together, their relationship isnt worth keeping and i hope she never talks to him again! 😁😁😁😁 she is such a rockstar and has such a bright light about her. i love her sooooo much!

next is Lana. Lana is also just the sweetest lady. she has such a strong desire to get baptized but satan is attacking her too. this time in the form of malboro reds lol. we met with her and read some scriptures and when she gets a prompting (i dont know if she recognizes it or not) she just says it out loud. she likens the scriptures to herself on her own when we read them with her and i think its the spirit helping her see how the book of mormon can help her find peace. she is such a ray of light and i cant wait to get to know her better!!

ON TOP OF MAKING IT TO MONDAY... I ALSO MADE IT TO 1 YEAR AS A MISSIONARY 🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑. longest year ever. jk🤣🤣🤣... kinda... not rlly jk. but boy has it been fun. ive had some ups and some downs, but i wouldnt trade it. I have met so many people that have made an impact on me and my life for the better (shout out to shylo... i miss u boo😘😘) crazy to think ill be home in 3 transfers... geez... anyways.

hey everyone! another week in independence! all my days are blending into one, but we are still seeing blessing after blessing!

highlights☀️
☆ exchange with sister kessler!! this was easily the best part of my week. im sure all of you who have read my emails know sister kessler probably about as well as i do. she is my bff and legit keeps me sane. we had SO MUCH FUN!! we went to bed right on time and also slept separately 😃(both are lies.. we take advantage of every sleepover opportunity ) and definitely didnt drink absurd amounts of soda.... yeah also a lie. if theres someone who will do it with me, its sister kessler. but also, i dont think ive ever worked harder. we found 5 new people to teach that day and had 9 lessons 😛. dream team. thats all im sayin.

☆ ive been reciting all of the twilight movies to sister hart and she is so invested. its so funny. and it tests my knowledge of the twilight saga 😛🤓☝️

☆ my new obsession is kermit gifs. i actually love them. they make me laugh so hard. my favorite thing is when im having a somewhat serious convo with someone on facebook or when im getting bashed and i send a kermit gif to lighten the mood😛

☆ ok.. so kinda weird.... our friend Cpecial (special) has a little sister, Shakida and they were interested in learning about the book of mormon so we went over to talk to them about it and Cpecial answers the door and proceeds to tell us that Shakida got kidnapped... like legit kidnapped... so ya.

howdy howdy! i miss u all! i hope yalls week was more eventful than mine! i straight up have nothing to update yall on...

the last few weeks have been slow with the work. for some reason everyone is not interested or out of town. (its almost like its summer for everyone except missionaries) even with it being slow and people being stinky, we still found 10 new people!

ive had a diabolical amount of diet coke this week... like actually im worried for my body. but like also... its so good so its fine. im drinking at least the same amount of water.. so it cancels out. kayla would be proud of me.

the title of my email comes from the artillary of funny conversations sister hart and i have. we were talking about how great utah is. Then we tried to scrape the barrel for nice things to say about missouri and then i drop the "id live in missouri if it was utah" bar, and it just made us laugh so hard. we have many conversations like this every week lol. missouri is great, dont get me wrong. its great if you like extreme humidity, bugs and terrible drivers and no deviation in elevation. nahh im jp. missouri is beautiful and its the place the Lord is coming back so i better like it lol.

highlights:
- saw my bff last pday😛
- went to maggies for dinner and spilled the piping hot tea for far too long.
- weather is warm😍

- ive been a missionary for 11 months!

howdy! another 2 weeks in the YSA! it was a beautiful few weeks! sorry i didnt send an email last week. we got caught in a tornado.. details below.

ZOCO: 🕺🪩
this was the worlds longest day... we were in that meeting from 9:30-3:30 and then we had an extra MCL meeting from 4-6. all in all, i sat in those metal chairs for far too long. However we did recieve some pretty amazing council. we had the opportunity to hear from Elder Gimenez and Elder Egbo and their wives. it was so good! they are truly representatives of Christ and you can tell just in the way they talked to us.

MARISSA, SHIA, MEADOW:👑
our queens got baptized this weekend! it was such a miracle! the preparation this week was WILD. we were mad stressing but the Lord provides and all was well! these 3 girls radiate the light of Christ and i just love them so much!

NADO: 🌪🌪🌪
there was a HUGE storm and kansas city was flooded and there were tornado warnings and all that. if you asked me id say people are a lil dramatic... it just rained for a while and that was it. these missouri folk 🤦🏼‍♀️

other than that, pretty much nothing happened last week.

We spent lots of time with our sisters. As STLs we have the responsibility to help our sisters when they need it and go on blitzes and exchanges with them and these are so fun but SO EXHAUSTING. we spent more time in their areas than we did in our own.😅

EXCHANGE W/ SIS GARZA:
this girl is such a fire cracker. shes so funny too. we just has so much fun. we worked HARD. We spent a lot of our day in downtown KC because she had never experienced it before and its def one for the books. we went to my favorite pizza spot called Grinders (shout out sister dow i miss u and our lil comp dates) and we knocked tons of sketchy places and saw some fun people! We had a super fun member dinner and got thai food at my fav thai spot in Independence too 😛

SUPER SATURDAY:
sister hart and i finally had time to find new people to teach. so we took that time and ran with it lol. we knocked SO MANY DOORS and sniped SO MANY PEOPLE and called A MILLION FOOLS. now we didnt have hardly aby luck for the first 7 hours of the day... and then we changed plans real fast to go to a different town than our original plans. We knocked a million doors and got a bunch slammed in our face again, but we found Matthew. He was so kind and now we are teaching him!

please pray for our friends! a lot of them are in rough spots in their lives right now and could use a few extra blessings😉

hey fam! whats good! i miss you all so much! i remember just about none of this week, but i will try my best to recollect some sort of experience to share. 😛

GO SHAWTY, ITS YA BIRTHDAY🕺
im 20 now.. thats all. it was a very good day full of people i love. it was also transfers so it was a sad day when i had to say goodbye to my best friend. but then my sweetie riv sisters, sister killpack and sister kessler made me a birthday cake and that was just the sweetest thing. i literally cried. it made the day so good. *pic below for proof*

A lot of this week was spent missing my little sister.. so there were a few pics of that in the album too. laney if youre reading this (u prob arent) i miss and love you to bits and pieces and i cant wait to hang out with you against your will when i get home. 🕺

DOORS DOORS DOORS🚪
this week was also full of a lot of slammed doors. we did a lot of knocking and a lot of walking away lol. this would be sad for a lot of people but i like to think about it as a time that the Lord is preparing someone super lit to come along. sister hart and i have been working super hard so after each day i feel accomplished even if we didnt find anyone.

TRANSFERS 🎊
turns out the YSA just doesnt want me to leave yet because im staying a 4th transfer here! this will be my 3rd transfer with sister hart too! im so excited to keep working! after this transfer i will have spent 1/3 of my mission in the independence YSA ward.... thats a long time. but i honestly wouldnt want to be anywhere else. maybe ill stay 5 like sister kington? love you sylvs 💗

SPIRITUAL THOUGHT🗣🚨
ok for those that know me at all, you know that im so nosey. i want to be in the know always. thats the same with God. i want to know everything that he wants for me. ive been asking God things about what i should do about certain situations and sometimes (most times) my answer is "youre not supposed to know the answer to that right now" and at first that answer frustrated me. because im nosey. and impatient. and i would much rather know now. but all things have been done in the wisdom of Him who knoweth all things. trust is a hard thing, but ive seen that as ive been able to put my trust in the Lord and His timining, i make better decisions, and my anxiety about the future is lessened. SO YALL JUST TRUST IN THE LORD OKIEEEE???

everything is the same over here! we have some insane elect people we are teaching! Shia, Meadow and Marissa are on date to be baptized on the 31st and the 1st! please keep them in your prayers!! they are such blessings to us and I feel so lucky to be even a tiny part of their spiritual progression!

im also super thankful that IM NOT GETTING TRANSFERRED!! this will be my 4th transfer in the independence ysa and my 3rd transfer with sister hart! Her and I are basically one being at this point. she finishes my sentence and i finish hers. we just laugh all day long and im so excited to be with her for another!!

We had stake conference this sunday and it was SOOO good! the talks were mostly about temple attendence and how much of a blessing having the opportunity to be in an eternal family unit is. and id agree!! it is the greatest blessing!! soooo go to the temple!! make time for the Lord. Give the Lord equal time, like we heard in general conference!!

hello all my party people! another week down! i hit 10 months as a missionary, celebrated the coolest mom ever from a few hundred miles away (its not the same), and saw the Lords hand in His work.

MOTHERS DAY💐
mothers day was so fun! it was less fun than it wouldve been if i got to spend it with my mom. (she deserves the world and more) buttttt, we did get flowers from the ward even though none of us are mothers (yet) i hope you all had the chance to show some appreciation for the women in your life.

MARISSA, MEADOW, SHIA ☮️🌊
these 3 girls are ELECT... they are just the sweetest people with the most willing hearts. they were just dropped into our laps and are getting baptized on the 31st and the 1st!

OK TWIST MY ARM🤷🏼‍♀️
this is sister hart and I's favorite thing to say rn. to use it in context we will say something like "bro swig sounds so good right now." and the other person will say "ok lets go then." and typically the conversation is ended with "ok fine twist my arm" as if it ever takes any convincing to go to swig lol. 🥤

TRENCH LAMBS 🐑
we had the opportunity to help our dear friend in the ward, maggie, move. If yall remember, maggie is the one with the farm animals... i was in HEAVEN. i cant wait to have my own lil homestead. i rlly want chickens 🐣 anyways. our reward for helping her move was a ride on a tiny home elevator (proof in the album), a pack of oreos and time frolicking with the sheep. unfortunately one of the little lambs got stuck in the trench and maggie DUG her out. (also proof of this in the album) all in all... would do again. easily the highlight of my week.

SERVICE SERVICE SERVICE🫡
we had some more service opportunity and we basically just did hecka yard work. now if yall know me you know pulling weeds and doing yard work is my LEAST favorite thing. however, this time, it didnt infuriate me. it actually brought a lot of peace knowing that the older man that runs the orchard wasnt doing BACKBREAKING labor (im being dramatic) for 3 weeks when us missionaries did it in 2 hours. i love service

This weeks spiritual thought is brought to you by 2 nephi 4. I read these verses for probably the 27th time on my mission and when i read them on a casual saturday morning, those words hit me harder than ever.

over the months ive come to realize that i dont trust so easily anymore and thats not always a bad thing, unless my inability to trust interferes with my relationship with the Lord. I noticed that i wasnt very hopeful about the work and i was reading and realized its because i dont FULLY trust the Lord.

Heres the verses:

15 And upon these I write the things of my soul, and many of the scriptures which are engraven upon the plates of brass. For my soul delighteth in the scriptures, and my heart pondereth them, and writeth them for the learning and the profit of my children.

16 Behold, my soul delighteth in the things of the Lord; and my heart pondereth continually upon the things which I have seen and heard.

17 Nevertheless, notwithstanding the great goodness of the Lord, in showing me his great and marvelous works, my heart exclaimeth: O wretched man that I am! Yea, my heart sorroweth because of my flesh; my soul grieveth because of mine iniquities.

18 I am encompassed about, because of the temptations and the sins which do so easily beset me.

19 And when I desire to rejoice, my heart groaneth because of my sins; nevertheless, I know in whom I have trusted.

20 My God hath been my support; he hath led me through mine afflictions in the wilderness; and he hath preserved me upon the waters of the great deep.

21 He hath filled me with his love, even unto the consuming of my flesh.

Bars🔥 specifically the last line of verse 19. Ive decided that "nevertheless" is my new motivation for missionary work. i may not understand why or how or what, but what i do know is who i put my trust in, and thats enough!

whats good!! it was another great week in the Missouri Independence Mission! We saw so many miracles this week! heres some of my favorites!

1. 3 people on date for baptism on sunday 🌊🌊- everyone in the ysa keeps bringing their girlfriends to us and they are all just so elect. Huge shout out to the Portland Oregon mission (🥲) for sending us meadow and shia, some of the most elect people evaaaa. they also all came to church!! 🥳🥳

2. almost all of our lessons went through 😲 this never happens with YSA. that being said, we had NO finding time, so the girlfriends i talked about before came in clutch lol.

3. another exchange with my bestie boo sister kessler. this was one for the books. im obsessed with this girl.

4. interviews w president! they went well!! i think im cooked tho... 3 transfers in the ysa and i think im leaving which sends me into a spiral. i never wanna leave.

5. presidents devo!! we had the opportunity of putting on a devotional for all of the recent converts from this year! it was super rewarding to see it all work out!

sorry this one is so short. it was a crazy busy week!

howdy everyone!

another week down and another to go! this week was great! we had some very interesting experiences!

HIGHLIGHTS:
☆ exchanges w/ sister kessler! ive talked about her before in an email, but this exchange was easily the highlight of my transfer. we had an absurd amount of fun and found 4 people to teach that day! we did service, walked a TON and talked to literally anyone with the breath of life in them. i love this girl ❤️‍🔥

☆ exchanges with hermana strupp! this girl is so fun. shes from montana and plays volleyball so you already know we got along. shes so kind and such a baller missionary... and she loves swig. i love being an STL and i love being a missionary because I get to meet people like hermana strupp! ❤️‍🔥

☆ played sand volleyball in the morning with our district! made my day!

☆ found 12 new people to teach and came across lots of interesting things and people. i learned a lot this week from the actions of others. we got slightly bashed for like an hour, but its no biggie.

SPIRITUAL THOUGHT: 2 nephi 2:25

25 Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy.

this week i have felt so much joy. there has been the opposite of that where i have felt disappointed and sad as well. but men are that they might have joy! so this week i invite you to do something that brings you joy! go see someone, serve someone, get a little beverage and go on a drive, play a sport. whatever joy looks like for you, go do it!

howdy everyone!! welcome back to another slightly uneventful, BUT AWESOME week.....

Mission lingo to make reading this easier🗣:
☆ trunky = wanting to go home
☆ pday trunky = wanting a pday
☆ munky = marriage trunky (sis dales lingo)
☆ tract = knocking doors

last week i didnt realize how pday trunky i was until pday was over and i was so much happier. who knew playing sand volleyball all day would cure me??!?! (predictable lol) this week was a slow week. we didnt find a ton of people to teach and the people we did find ghosted us 😐🥲 so yeah... i was a lil frustrated this week.

for example: we were tracting one day and came across this guy Holden. He was super nice and said he had easter plans but would be interested in coming to church next week! wooohooo! right?!?!? yeah... he gave us the phone number of some random 15 year old girl... like bruh... we know where you live... u cant get rid of me like that.

even though our friends are being bummy and not keeping any of their commitments, we keep trying! we can just have faith that the spirit is working on them and that even if we dont see the fruits of our labor today or next week or month, that the seed we planted might blossom somewhere down the road. 🌱

MINI MTC: 👭
our zone had the opportunity to help out at a mini mtc for the youth in Independence. It was SO MUCH FUN!! it made me miss being in a family ward a lil. Its crazy how fast we all became friends. ❤️‍🔥

EXCHANGES:😍
we had exchanges with blue springs sisters and i stayed in the YSA with sister knotts again and it was SO FUN. shes just the cutest and sweetest girl and i just love her so much. i always learn so much from her.

EASTER: 🐣✝️🐇
another miracle!! my sweet mom and pop sent me a cute lil package for easter and by the grace of God, it got here on time. Shipping anything from utah and idaho to missouri takes SO LONG for no reason. its remarkable. but it got here and mom totally ate it up. shes so extra haha i love her.

The greatest miracle of all is the miracle of Jesus Christ. He suffered so much that he bled from EVERY pore. He was beaten to the point where every bit of his body was bruised, but thats what he needed to feel to fully take us upon himself. Jesus Christ was never plan B.

This week i read the Holy Week Study Plan on gospel library and it was SO GOOD! if you didnt get a chance to take a look at it, go do it now!
