Our History

It all started with the Lord planting a dream in Pastor Dick Drumeller to raise up a passionate worshiping ch

urch in the Montgomery County area where it seemed to be spiritually dry. Founded in 1995, Crystalbrook began meeting in the old schoolhouse found in Liberty, KS. From its inception, Crystalbrook’s core values have been a heart of worship and deep dedication to Jesus. God began to bless this community of believers as they strove to see Montgomery County changed for the cause of Christ. Shortly after founding Crystalbrook, Pastor Dick became concerned and burdened with the thought of being just “another good church” which didn’t offer true spiritual help or renewal. This caused him to seek the Lord on how Crystalbrook could be a church that really made a true difference. Through connections made half way around the world, Pastor Dick heard of a small town church in Smithton, MO (to what is now called World Revival Church located in Kansas City, MO) where God was moving mightily in revival through the ministry of Steve Grey. Upon his first visit he was immediately struck with deep conviction as to the passion and dedication he saw in the congregation of believers there. From this and ensuing visits, Pastor Dick found a new call and passion to reach southeast Kansas. The following years were filled with fiery sermons, passionate worship, instant healing’s, and dramatic conversions. Some would comment to Pastor Dick “I can’t believe its you preaching so intensely!” A trait found in Pastor Dick’s sermons to this day. In 1998, Crystalbrook purchased the former Catholic Church building in Liberty as the church began to grow and experience deep moves of God that would leave spectators speechless and teary eyed. This movement was not only among adults but had a strong impact on the children and youth as well. In 1999, Crystalbrook acquired the “Lonesome Buzzard Saloon” located in Liberty, and transformed it into a fully functional youth center. God began to move upon the hearts of these youth as they began meeting every Thursday, seeing God add to their numbers weekly. Many times they would be so enveloped in God’s interaction, they simply would not want to leave. This was all intensified with the acquaintance of Mark Marshall and his traveling group of youth ministers. These series of meetings caused many to experience a new freedom which has changed the lives of many that attended to this day. Worship was an vital part of these moves of God as everyone would call out to the Lord with one voice. These years of transformation are what shaped Crystalbrook as it is today. Crystalbrook has recently finished construction on the new fully equipped facility in Independence, KS. Currently residing at 15th and Chestnut, God has continued to show his favor on this community as they continue to strive for His glory to be revealed in Montgomery County. God is forming a diverse team of seasoned workers whose goal is to see Montgomery County helped and changed through the transforming work of our Lord. God has also formed a key connection with Sandy Earle whose outreach and missions experience bring a vital part to what Crystalbrook is today. Things have never looked better for Crystalbrook as God is bringing old and new faces together to reveal His glory. There is much anticipation in the air as we pursue God’s story, revealed through this body of believers.
