As we approach Memorial Day weekend, Mound Grove Cemetery would like to recognize the exceptional volunteers of The American Legion - Tirey J. Ford Post 21. Year after year, this fine group of men and women gives their time to place flags in memory of our nation's service members.

We are deeply moved by the incredible turnout and dedication shown today. Thank you, Post 21, for your steadfast service, your community spirit, and your partnership in keeping remembrance alive.

A great team of volunteers placed flags this morning at Mound Grove Cemetery in 90 minutes. Honoring those veterans is a core part of The Legion, and we are proud to do it.

Honor Their Memory from Anywhere

It’s not always easy to visit the cemetery in person, but your loved ones are always in your heart. If you are unable to make it out this Memorial Day, we are here to help you honor their memory.

This Veterans Day, we pause with gratitude and pride as we remember the men and women who have worn our nation’s uniform. Their bravery, sacrifice, and love of country continue to inspire all of us.

At Mound Grove Cemetery, we are humbled to be the final resting place for so many who have served. Each headstone tells a story of courage — of someone who stood up for something greater than themselves.

As we walk these grounds today, we are reminded that the peace and freedoms we enjoy were built by those willing to protect them. May we never take that for granted.

To all veterans, and to the families who supported them — we thank you, we honor you, and we remember you.

"A nation that forgets its veterans will not long persist."

These words, spoken by Mark Clark of the American Legion, are as true today as they were in 1918, when Wilmer Andes made the ultimate sacrifice in service to his country. Today, at the rededication of his memorial cenotaph, we paid tribute to that sacrifice and to the legacy of a man who served proudly during the Great War.

We thank the American Legion Riders of The American Legion - Tirey J. Ford Post 21 for making today's beautiful ceremony possible!
