It is with a sad heart that I have to inform you that all services have been cancelled world wide by the World Church until May 1st. John Doty has recorded a sermon for your enjoyment. Copies of the CD have been left in a plastic storage bin by the front door of the church on the concrete bench located outside. Please DO NOT put money in the tub for CD's. The sermon is also available online in MP3 format and the following link. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1-klNiSKbCTTgD_DPiYiZJ8rR2LoCKGtv

The pastorate will be meeting to discuss alternative ways we can worship and share with each other. We will keep you informed as information is available. Any priesthood who is willing to record a sermon please let me know and we will arrange for it. I will continue to use the prayer line and email as the main communication line.

I visited with Harry and the Shelton family today. Brother Harry is very weak but is in good spirits. Harry is still providing ministry with all those around him. Continue to pray for Harry and Tiona as well as The Shelton family.

Pray for each other and stay in contact with each other. I encourage you to pick up the phone and give someone a call. We are all in this together. If you have more than you need, share with someone in need. And if you are in need of something, please feel free to reach out to me.

God be with you until we meet again.

This is our first Sunday to be apart. I have felt saddened knowing that we will not be fellowshipping and worshiping together today. This morning I spent time reading in the book of Mosiah Chapter 12. I read of the account of Alma running into the sons of Mosiah during his travels. The Joy he expressed in seeing his friends was evident from his writings. The greater joy came in the revelation that they were still men of God and going about doing God’s work. Alma describes the work and effort these men had put into their growth. They spent their time in study, prayer and fasting. In Chapter 2 of II Timothy we are counseled to study to show ourselves approved of God and that we should not be ashamed of our faith and walk with the Lord. Even though we are apart let us all lift each other up in prayer and fasting. Let us study our scriptures that we might have great understanding and show ourselves approved in the sight of God. Our time apart is but a short season and we will soon see each other again.

November of this year Mark's the 25th anniversary of the New Hope congregation. In celebration we will have a series of sermons mixed with hymn sings, testimonies and memories of the last 25 years. Everyone is invited to share in worship and fellowship. If you have memories or testimonies you would like to share. Let us know. The dates are yet to be determined. Please share with everyone so the word gets out. We would love to see everyone who has been apart of our congregation as a member or occasional visitor.

Sunday school had been cancelled this morning. The snow should be tapering off soon and the plows are out. Our parking lot is being cleared. We are still having church. The roads are not the best so I would advise discretion. Please be safe out there if you don't feel safe getting out don't feel obligated to come.

From Patty Doty shared with her permission

Hi David, I'm finally getting this text to you. sorr, I've been inundated with Drs., nurses etc. I am so grateful for everyone's prayers they have lifted our whole family up including John. I want to give a praise report first. They confirmed to me today that there are NO aneurysms PRAISE GOD ! they thought there were 3, one of them being in the basilar artery right by the cerebellum. That was really bad news, but further tests proved there are NO aneurysms!!! He is making great strides with his arm and leg strengthening thanks to your humble uplifting prayers accompanied with strong faith and the blessings in response of our wonderful merciful Savior! The greatest & most critical problem we have is the blood clot in his vertebral artery which is very close to the basilar artery at the center of the brain. This is a very dangerous position for a blood clot making every moment critical, but our God can handle critical Please pray the Lord will stay this clot while the heparin blood thinner Works to keep it from growing so it will naturally dissolve. This could take 2 to 3 days or months. we are praying it will resolve quickly. He will be on the Heparin drip for 7 days unless it dissolves sooner. Obviously that is the most important consideration for prayer as well as praying against complications, especially bleeding.There are other important issues we need to pray about as well. Some of these things are hopefully possible passing phases. At this time, John is unable to swallow, and yesterday developed double vision. He is also having issues with his voice, possibly from aspirating, but may have something to do with the stroke. I'm claiming in the name of Jesus Christ that these things are all temporary, and he will quickly return to perfect vision, voice, and swallowing so he will be able to study the word preach the sermons he needs to preach and sing! I'm so grateful from the bottom of my heart for your prayers for John. Every prayer makes a difference !!!

D&C 22a It is expedient that the church meet together often to partake of bread and wine in remembrance of the Lord Jesus;

We often hear people say "I can worship God on my own and don't need to go to Church". It is true that we can worship anywhere we find ourselves. However, this scripture tells us of the importance of meeting together often. We as a church are called to bring forth God's kingdom on this earth. One person alone is not a kingdom. In Genesis, we are told that he called His people Zion because they were of one heart and one mind. When we come together in worship we are bound together with the love of Jesus Christ. Sharing in sacrament, worship and fellowship draws us closer together not only with each other but also with Christ.

D&C 38:6a Behold, this I have given unto you a parable, and it is even as I am: I say unto you, Be one; and if ye are not one, ye are not mine.
