Pastor Eli Carico shares a devotional:
“How can we behold the beauty of the Lord?” (Psalm 27:4)
As I sit in my nice warm and dry house gazing out the window into an unknown world of frigid temperatures and cold winds, I praise God for the splendor of the beautiful sites I am blessed to see and for all His power and love. The signs and wonders provide tangible proof of God’s supernatural involvement in the world, intended to confirm truth and inspire faith in the fact He is in control of everything and I’m (we’re) to enjoy and be prepared for. Oops, I forgot the milk and bread. Then I sip my coffee and thank Him for what He has provided for me today.
As I begin to pray, I ask the Holy Spirit to lead my prayer so I may ask God the right things. Lift the ones that have to be out in this cold, knowing they are trying to make way so others can go do what they have to do. Be with the leaders, the ones that make the tough decisions that in the end make all the difference in the outcome. For the ones that are trapped in the uncertainties of this world and end up without a warm, dry place to lay their heads and a hot meal. I pray for the ones that are praying alongside me that their hearts’ desires are lifted, and peace fills their hearts and minds as we ask God to pour His healing power over our request.
Look at today and the days ahead as a road map to a place where you can be the hands and feet, or maybe the words of Jesus to someone who feels lost and alone, trapped with nowhere to go. Can we show the LOVE of Christ?
Paul stated, while in prison, that there was nothing impossible as long as he put Jesus in it first. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)
So go! But be smart.
