We will be accepting bagged trash, general junk, old mattresses and appliances this coming Thursday, Oct 6 from 10am to 6pm at 603 N. Jennings Rd, Independence (St. Mark’s United Methodist Church parking lot).

Reasonable pricing for on-the-fly disposal.

Hey ST MATTHEW! THANKS for coming out to Charge Conference! It was a successful and good meeting! Here is the information on Lay Speaker Training: Lay Speaker Training in Kansas City

Basic and Advanced Lay Speaker Training and Certification is being offered at St. James UMC on 5540 Wayne Ave. The basic course will help individuals discern & respond to God’s call and help each person recognized his or her spiritual gift. The Advanced Course is called “Leading in Prayer,” and it will help each person focus on the way, when, and how you pray. With prayer we experience God’s presence and strength. Family and Friends of St Matthew it is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of Marie Vance, she was a very loved woman of the church. The tentative plans for her service will be Tuesday Aug 30 at 2pm. Pastor Bill Bunge and I will officiate the service together. I will post updates as soon as I know. ~Pastor Rebecca~
