Our fifth-Sunday community engagement focus this Sunday (May 31) will be tools that can help us more effectively engage in—and shape—policy-related decisions affecting us all.
Beginning at 10AM with coffee and munchies, we’ll have hands-on training as we walk through the latest and most effective tools and information for becoming an informed voter.
When you leave you’ll have tools to identify and readily contact your city, state, and federal representatives; you’ll be aware of the latest changes in voter ID laws; and you’ll have identified an issue of interest to you, contacting a legislator in real-time by placing a call or writing a letter.
In the opening session we’ll watch a video on “The Fight to the Right to Vote in the US,” and close with a video on “What Happened to the Voting Rights Act?”
With critical November mid-term elections approaching, it’s essential that qualified voters exercise their rights and responsibilities of citizenship.
