Please join us for Communion Worship at Walnut Gardens Community of Christ this Sunday, Sept. 6, at 11:00am. Our theme for this week is "What Do We Owe Each Other". Cheryl Craft will bring the message.

Other participants include: Jim R. Craft presiding. Mary Buxbaum providing music. Connor Craft sharing the prayer for peace, and James Craft leading the Disciples Generous Response. Our deacon will be Jerry Gard and Jeff and Cindi Rogers will provide our AV support.

Please plan to join us either online or in person this Sunday, Aug. 23rd at 11:00am. We will worship together while considering the theme "Practice Creative Resistance." Ken McLaughlin will deliver the sermon as Mary Buxbaum serves as Presider/Planner. Nancy Hershey is our organist, with Janice Kramer and Ginny Miller sharing in other worship elements. We will revisit the ancient story of the midwives Shiprah and Pruah and explore the spiritual danger of settling. The Rogers and Jerry Gard will provide support ministries.

Following the service please plan to join us in the social hall for pizza and ice cream to celebrate the end of the summer feeding contest. The winner will be announced and prizes awarded. We can still use canned fruit and vegetables so bring the last of your donations up front during the offertory so they are included in the final count.

Please join us this Sunday, August 16th at 10:00am for our next Walnut Gardens Visioning Session. We will primarily review where we left off with our last session in May, the progress made toward some of the ideas that have surfaced from our 4 focus areas:

1. Engaging Children And Youth With More Intention
2. Building More Authentic Connections Outward With Our Neighborhood And Broader Community
3. Strengthening Connections Inward Among Our Members
4. Providing Stronger Support For Our Aging Families

Followed by discussion on what next steps we may take in our continued discernment.

Please join us this Sunday, July 26th at 11:00am for the baptisms and confirmations of Payton Hoyt and Abner Guthrie. As their grandparents, Sue and Ken McLaughlin perform these sacraments. Andrea Read-Davis will preside, and Pastor Dave Read-Davis will speak. Karen Brown is the pianist and the chime choir will play.

Worship participants include Janice Cramer and Gary Logan, assisted by the congregation’s kids. Video music will be from the One Voice Children’s Choir. Support ministers are Jerry Gard, Matt and Heather Varner, and Jeff and Cindi Rogers. The World Church theme is aptly entitled, "Come as You Are." Please welcome our guests to this special service.
