Next weekend is Kansas City Pride Fest! The dates are Friday, June 5- Sunday, June 7. Community of Christ has a booth, and it is an amazing opportunity to show our support of the LGBTQIA+ community and make connections with others who stand for inclusion, welcome, and belonging. There is a link below to sign up that includes contact information for our coordinators in local Mission Centers of the Community of Christ Pride Booth. We hope to see you there!

Over the last month we’ve had meaningful conversation about calling, purpose, and where our deep longing meets the world’s deep hunger. This time of intentional connection has been life-giving, hope-inspiring, and spirit-filled. On this 5th Sunday of the month, we hope you will find a connection point that is meaningful for your journey— quiet time of practice, reaching out and connecting with others in the community, or noticing where and how the Spirit might encourage your heart to wander. Our prayer is that this open space will be a gift that will bless your life, and create room within for our continued journey of discernment with one another. We also encourage you to participate in Sacred Pulse, the Center for Living Water’s monthly mindful music gathering on Saturday night at 6 PM. See full details further down in this email.

We are excited to re-connect on June 7 for an experience of Appreciative Inquiry led by Katie Harmon-Mclaughlin. Appreciative Inquiry is a process that focuses on the positive aspects of human systems and practices. During this experience we will have the opportunity to share about what has been life-giving in our community experiences at the Table. Katie, who holds deep expertise and experience in discernment practices and habits will facilitate this experience.

Giving opportunity!

Sunday morning at 10am, we will gather at Unity Village in Lee’s Summit, a beautiful campus with nature trails, labyrinths, and gardens. We will meet in the lower parking lot by the nature trails. We will have a host for those who want to gather with camping chairs to connect and share in dialogue while others hike and explore the campus. Plan to pack a lunch and stay afterwards for a picnic lunch in community!

What to Bring: Camping chair, sunscreen, water bottle, and a packed lunch.
