10. You aren’t getting any younger. No, really. And although most of us (all of us?) want to defer, delay, or outright avoid thinking about the disposition of our remains after death, most of us are clear about our wishes right now.

What is a Columbarium?

From the Latin word "devecote," a columbarium is an arrangement of niches or wall-recessed compartments exclusively for the placement of cremated human remains. Each niche has a fronts of mosaic stained glass and beige marble.

Though located inside St. Patrick's Episcopal Church building, the Columbarium has its own entrance and parking area. Loved ones can visit the Columbarium during regular office hours and by appointment, and can meditate in a peaceful, visually appealing setting. There are lovely mosaics, marble, and a beautiful stained glass window. This is the only place on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe where cremated remains may be placed. It is consecrated ground, being inside a church, and it is also a non-denominational place and open to the entire community.
