Join us in prayer for our beloved brothers and sisters at Buckingham Presbyterian Church as they face this terrible situation. Just as they have been there for us, we want to be there for them.

Crews are battling a massive fire at a church on Buckingham Road in Buckingham on Friday night.

"Don't ever sacrifice who you are, your
principles and your morals and your values to
just try to get ahead in business. It ain't worth
it." Dolly Parton

Please, pray for the Immokalee community as we go through the surge of presence and actions related with the immigration crockdown. For the safety of everyone under siege and treated.

Pray for us, as we try our best to be present and be witness of God's love in the middle of the struggle.

Farm workers face more than 35 times the risk of heat-related death compared with workers in other industries. ☀️

According to research by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the danger of extreme heat for agricultural workers is disproportionately high.

Extreme heat isn't simply uncomfortable for people spending full days working outdoors. It's a workplace hazard that can lead to serious illness, injury, and death.

Yet right now, H.R. 6213 could block progress toward federal heat protections by preventing the Department of Labor from finalizing or enforcing OSHA's proposed Heat Injury and Illness Prevention standard or a substantially similar rule.

Farm workers and other outdoor workers should not have to risk their lives to earn a living.

📣 Our partners at the United Farm Workers are asking people across the country to contact Congress and urge their representatives to oppose H.R. 6213.

It takes just a few minutes to add your voice.

We’ll share the NIH and CDC research behind this statistic in the comments.

"They were 8 years old and they marched into fire hoses because adults were too afraid.

May 2, 1963 - Birmingham, Alabama. Real event - Children's Crusade. Martin Luther King Jr. needed marchers, but adults were afraid of losing jobs. So 1,000 Black children ages 8 to 18 walked out of school and marched.

Real history: Birmingham Police Chief Bull Connor ordered firemen to spray them with hoses that could knock bark off trees - exactly like you see water splashing. He ordered police dogs. News cameras filmed it.

The 4 children in front holding hands in image - real photo from 1963 shows same - are 10 to 12 years old in Sunday best. They marched knowing they would be jailed. 900 children were jailed first day. Jails filled.

But America saw children in suits being hit by hoses and got sick. President Kennedy saw it on TV and said ""It makes me sick"" and pushed Civil Rights Act. These children - 8 years old - changed law.

After a few very difficult days for the community—days marked by persecution and harassment—today we share a sense of relief, empathy, and encouragement. Although it was a day for distributing diapers, we started with a line of only 18 people; usually, we begin with over a hundred. People are frightened and in hiding. We are here to remind them just how much they are loved and appreciated. An honest question: how much darkness must there be in one's heart not to recognize the face of God in one's neighbor?
When you see the pictures, you will understand where the question comes from.

We need more calls in support of protection for our Haitian siblings! Please contact your senators today!

More than 330,000 Haitians could lose Temporary Protected Status (TPS) following the U.S. Supreme Court's June 25 decision allowing the administration to end these protections. People of faith have an opportunity to make their voices hear and stand up for our neighbors, church members, and community leaders reliant on TPS. The House has already passed legislation to extend TPS protections for Haitians through 2029, and the same bill—S. 4814—has been introduced in the Senate. Now, Senate leadership needs to hear from people of faith. Contact your Senators today and urge them to support S. 4814 and protect Haitian families and communities.
