JPII, we love you!

🕊️ Today marks the 21st anniversary of beloved Pope Saint John Paul II’s passing into eternal life.

🕊️ Pope John Paul II’s teachings and example are ever more relevant today. We are reminded of his role in the fall of communism and interreligious dialogue, his focus on human rights and the dignity of the human person, his emphasis on the importance of marriage and the family, and his spreading the Message of Divine Mercy. Pope St. John Paul II, pray for us!

Amen to that! 🙏🏻

Amen to that! 🙏🏻

Just before receiving the Eucharist, the Priest says, “The Body of Christ.” The communicant responds with a single word: Amen. It sounds small, almost automatic. But in the Catholic faith, this is one of the most serious words you will ever speak.

“Amen” does not mean “okay” or “thank you.” It means “I believe.” When you say Amen, you are publicly declaring that what you are about to receive is not bread, not a symbol, not a reminder, but Jesus Christ Himself: Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. With that one word, you are professing the Church’s faith in the Real Presence.

But the danger lies here: Amen is not only a statement of belief; it is a statement of commitment. By saying Amen, you are also saying, “I accept everything this Eucharist demands of me.” You are agreeing to be united to Christ, to live as His disciple, to turn away from sin, and to let your life match what you receive. The Church does not force Communion on anyone, you step forward freely, and your Amen seals the choice.

This is why the Church warns against receiving Communion without proper disposition. To say Amen while rejecting Christ’s teaching, while clinging deliberately to grave sin, or while denying His presence is to let your lips say what your life refuses to live. Saint Paul speaks sharply about this: we must discern the Body, because this is no ordinary food.

The beauty of Amen is that it is both faith and surrender. In one word, you say, “Yes, Lord. I believe. I receive. I am willing to be changed.” That is why the Church pauses there. Heaven listens.

Now you know.

The next time you say Amen, will it be a habit, or a wholehearted confession of faith that your life is ready to carry?

Let's hear you at the comment section.

Feast of St. Martin de Porres

“Everything, even sweeping, scraping vegetables, weeding a garden and waiting on the sick could be a prayer, if it were offered to God.” -St. Martin de Porres

Today’s Reflection: womenofgrace.com/blog/everything-prayer
Prayer of St. Martin de Porres
In life’s daily struggles I sometimes feel bewildered and alone.
So I turn to you, St. Martin, my friend and companion,
to intercede for me before God.
Please pray for (mention your intention).
Most of all, ask for the grace that I may live the Gospel.
May God grant me your humility, Martin,
so that I always do His will.
Dearest Father, in the name of your Son, Jesus,
and by the power of the Holy Spirit,
guide me as I face the challenges of life.
Give me Martin’s sense of service
so that I may be a blessing to all whom I meet. Amen.
St. Martin de Porres, pray for us!

The Beatitudes invite us to the heights of holiness. They are not for the faint of heart or for those living a lukewarm spiritual life. These Beatitudes present us with the pinnacle of holy living and challenge us to the core. But every effort put into living these Beatitudes are worth it here on earth and ultimately in Heaven. Let’s look briefly at two of these Beatitudes.

Stand with the truth

Stand with the truth

When we defend the fullness of the Catholic faith, we echo the courage of the Apostles who stood against the world with nothing but conviction and grace. Even if the world rejects us, even if we’re few.. God can do more with twelve faithful souls than with twelve thousand lukewarm ones.

Be among the few. Stand with the truth.
