In the dynamic world of small business, intentional leadership is paramount to navigating through the vast sea of information with purpose and direction.

Like many entrepreneurs, I once found myself engulfed by a torrent of advice from various sources – networking events, seminars, courses, books, and programs. Each nugget of wisdom seemed promising, yet amidst the abundance, it was often a struggle to convert knowledge into tangible action.

: THE RIPPLE EFFECT OF CONFIDENCE

I’ve always been fascinated by the incredible impact confidence can have on our lives. Confidence is almost like a magical force that helps us feel good about ourselves while also attracting positivity and opportunities into our lives.

In writing “The Confident Choice,” I wanted to capture that essence – the beauty, power, and sheer magnetism of confidence. I wanted to remind myself – and you – that we have the power to choose how we navigate through the incredible journey of life. This choice is completely ours, whether we embrace confidence and all its goodness. Or opt for a less hopeful path.

Writing this poem is my way of expressing my strong belief in the transformative power of confidence and encouraging others to make that confident choice in their own lives. When we choose confidence, we’re not just shaping our own journey, we’re also spreading positivity and inspiration to everyone around us.

And that’s the kind of ripple effect I want to create.

THE CONFIDENT CHOICE

Confidence radiates beauty
and power,
Attracting like-minded people
and energy,
Building forward momentum
and guidance,
Creating mental abundance
and gratitude,
Opening our hearts
and minds,
Manifesting greater purposes
and intentions.

Intentional words strung together,
or purposefully delivered
in singular fashion,
persuasively create energy
impacting our very core.

We can choose to create
beautiful moments,
confident solutions,
powerful experiences…

When we choose to create,
confidently create at this level,
we are automatically choosing
to positively influence ourselves,
and those around us.

Or we can choose to create
something not positive,
something not hopeful,
something not confident.

Either way,
the choice is ours to make.

I know what I choose.

: I LOVE THE HUMAN YOU

Recent thoughts shared by a friend have caused me to ponder on what it means to truly see other people. I have pondered at a deeper level what it means to fully see humanity, to completely love every culture, every race, every creed.

It’s too easy to see differences, to judge choices and lifestyles, to look down upon others.

I desire to see the greatness in all people. I want to see and love each as a brother and sister even though we may worship different Gods, or no God at all. I want to honor them even if they do not honor my beliefs, my culture, my lifestyle.

I strive to love them in their brokenness, celebrate their rising from defeat, cheer as they soar in victory.

I hope to extend the gift of grace for their mistakes, even if they do not extend grace for mine. I hope to love them where they are on their journey, even if they don’t love me on my journey. I want to quickly forgive any pain they may cause, to me, to others, without expecting the same.

I fall short in my desire.
I fail to keep striving.
I give up on my hope.

Yet…

I keep trying.
I keep living my promise.
I keep getting back up, every time, no matter what.

I seek to feel charity for others, that which scripture calls the “pure love of Christ,” though I know there are times I don’t feel or don’t act very charitable.

But I deeply desire to feel it more often. I deeply desire to feel pure love.

And I know you do too. With all the challenges of humanity, with all our collective differences, with all the very real problems of very real people, together we are choosing to rise in hope and soar in love.

So when I say “I Love You!” at the end of every Monday Morning Boost, please know I truly do love the human you.

: BUSY?

It’s early Monday morning, the dawn of a new week, and I can sense the hustle and bustle already brewing. As you kickstart your week, let’s take a moment to ponder the concept of being busy.

Lee Iacocca urged us to channel our energies into positive endeavors, especially during the challenging parts of our journey. “In times of great stress or adversity,” he said, “it’s always best to keep busy, to plow your anger and your energy into something positive.”

But then there’s Henry David Thoreau, advocating for the opposite approach. He believed that success often finds those who aren’t actively seeking it. “Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it.”

At first glance, these viewpoints may seem contradictory, but they share a common thread: intentional focus.

Let’s delve deeper into the essence of busyness…

The truth is, you’ll always find yourself inundated with tasks and responsibilities. It’s an inevitable part of life. However, amidst the chaos, you can find clarity on where to focus your efforts when you intentionally create a vision that can become your North Star.

Creating and living an intentional life demands an intentional focus. Such focus will be the result of choosing to intentionally lead yourself.

And the great news…

You are already an Intentional Leader!

You are already a beacon of light leading yourself on life’s journey as you carve your path with purpose.

You don’t need assistance from fellow Intentional Leaders. You don’t require the support of a tribe. And you certainly don’t need me or the resources I offer through Red Edge Mentoring.

You’re already equipped to achieve remarkable feats without external aid.

However, if you aspire to infuse more intention, clarity, and velocity into your journey, there might be a solution worth exploring.

As you contemplate how to refine your Vision, execute your Strategy, and live your Promises, I encourage you to consider who could accompany you on this transformative expedition.
