The World Needs Your Joy
There is a quote by C.S. Lewis that I love “Joy is the serious business of heaven”.
There is a difference between happiness and joy. Happiness is based on your circumstance. For example, I’m happy if I find a $20 bill on the ground. However, joy is much deeper than that. Joy springs from deep inside you and remains regardless of your circumstances.
Joy does not mean there won’t be hard days and sometimes difficult seasons. But Joy is not temporary – it does not come and go. It lives within you. The world promises all of us that we will find true happiness if we buy this or do that but Jesus promises joy everlasting.
In a world where people are lonely, angry and loud our joy shines like a spotlight in the darkness. So don’t hide it. Let your joy bubble up and share it with a hurting world.
Psalm 30:11-12
You have turned for me my mourning into dancing;
You have loosed my sackcloth and girded me with gladness,
12 That my [d]soul may sing praise to You and not be silent.
O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever.
