From Practicing Catholics to Apostles on Mission is a formation program created by the Catholic Apostolate Center that supplies Catholics with pastoral and theological training in order to answer the call to be missionary disciples. From the liturgy and sacraments to discernment and parish ministry, Apostles on Mission equips Catholics with the tools to go deeper in their faith and live out their mission within the world today. Through the program, participants strengthen their personal relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church through discovering their gifts, learning about the Church’s mission of evangelization, and implementing their formation in concrete ways within their parishes or communities.

The interactive online course includes 10 modules with videos, lesson guides, reading material, and activities to bring the Apostles on Mission formation experience directly to your home computer or laptop. The course is completely self-paced and can be completed according to your availability and schedule. The course will go live on January 22nd, 2022, in honor of the Catholic Apostolate Center's patron's, St. Vincent Pallotti’s, feast day.

Registration for the Apostles on Mission online course can be found here: http://ow.ly/H6Rk50Hxa5L. Once on the web page, click “add to cart” to begin your registration. Follow the prompts to complete your registration, and you will be provided access instructions to the course, as well as confirmation of your registration, in your inbox. The cost to register is $25.00, and includes access to the entire course and materials. To learn more about the program, click here: https://www.apostlesonmission.org/sessions. The Archdiocese of Washington and the Initiative on Catholic Social Thought and Public Life at Georgetown University invite you to join us for the second in a series of three unique dialogues on the call of Fratelli Tutti to young people in our wounded Church and broken world on November 4.

This second virtual gathering of young people on Thursday, November 4 will examine Pope Francis’ call to reject a throwaway culture, where “persons are no longer seen as a paramount value to be cared for and respected," but instead to recognize each person’s inherent dignity and to remember that together we must “care for our common home” amid a pandemic, economic inequality, and polarization in the Church, in the United States, and around the world.

There will be time for questions and conversation among these leaders and viewers of this dialogue.

This dialogue is an extension of the Theology on Tap programs of The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington and the Salt and Light and Latino Leader Gatherings of the Initiative. The Archdiocese and Initiative are grateful to Scholas Occurrentes for their partnership with this gathering.

This dialogue will be live-captioned. Accommodation requests should be sent to [email protected] by November 3. A good-faith effort will be made to fulfill requests.

10/01/2021

Earlier this year, Pope Francis asked the Archdiocese of Washington to bring together young people of faith to share and act on the message of Fratelli Tutti, his letter to the world on solidarity, friendship, and encounter. As a response to the Holy Father's request, next Thursday, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington and the Initiative on Catholic Social Thought and Public Life at Georgetown University are co-hosting the first of a three-part online dialogue for young people.

Join us on Thursday, October 7 for an online dialogue on “Who is My Neighbor: Washington, Afghanistan, Haiti”. This unique virtual gathering of young people will begin with a welcome from Cardinal Wilton Gregory and continue with a conversation amongst young people of faith on how we are called to respond to this question of “Who is my neighbor?”

This conversation is the first of a three-part dialogue series this Fall (October 7, November 4, December 2) entitled, Pope Francis, Young People, and Solidarity: Dialogues on Fratelli Tutti and is co-hosted by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington and the Initiative on Catholic Social Thought and Public Life at Georgetown University.
