THE WORD FOR TODAY IS DISTRACTIONS : Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of Sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scoffers. (Psalms 1:1). Distractions that divert attention from "what's needed" because of what's wanted or dangerous. Distracted driving is a great example. What's needed is safe driving; what's wanted is whatever takes our eyesoff the road. what about distracted living? In (Psalm 1). we find two options laid out for us: 1) Living the way of world (what's wanted) or 2 (Living the way of the word (what's needed). Because of sin, we"re easily distracted by the success acceptance and prosperity the world
flaunts. What's the answer to training our focus on what God reveals in his word? Meditating on it day and night; dedicating ourselves to the sort of deep and penetrating thoughts that drive our decisions and permeate our priorities. It's what keep us on the straight and narrow. Read (Paslm 1)and(Romans 15:1-4).
Guiding Lord, keep me on the course marked out for me and your word Amen.

THE WORD FOR TODAY IS LOVE, Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever. ( Psalms 136:1). love Isn't Love what Ash Wednesday is all about? what's better day to focus on the greater greatest gift of love ever given ---the gift of God's own Son, Jesus, sent to be our savior from sin. Each day in Lent, we"ll explore a different paslm, considering the heart of the paslmist as we reflect and refocus so that our own Hearts might be reshaped in repentance. We'll see how the paslm give shape to our own thoughts and feeling as we, too come before God on this journey to the foot or the cross culminates in victory over sin, death in the devil. In this paslm, we find a picture of true love. The same mighty God who made us loved us enough to save us. He demonstrates love us time and again and, thought our own efforts fall short, his love never waver. Lenten Lord, embrace me today within the circle of your abiding love of rescue and redemption. Amen reag (Paslm 136).(John 3 :16-18).

THE WORD FOR TODAY IS, WISDOM. So teach us to number our days that we might get a heart of wisdom (Psalms 90:12). Here's a word to the wise: While life is fleeting, God's love, grace and mercy last forever. (Psalm90). happens to be a prayer Moses, it's believed to be the oldest psalm, and the wisdom learned by this servant of God permeates each verse. First, we find an exclamations that God has always been God, even before the world was framed. Then there is a comparison that, through our live are precious, they are but a fleeting shadow marked by sin and struggle. What follows is a plea that God will give us hearts of wisdom that enable us to make the most of our days, invested in that which brings meaning and purpose. This wisdom sees beyond the here and now, looking back on what we've learned and live through in the past while focusing on the future. Which begs the question: How might my words and deeds today being glory to God who has secured my future in Christ? graciousy Lord imprint your wisdom upon my heart that my life may glorify you Amen. Read Psalm 90 and 1Cor. 1: 18-25

THE WORD FOR TODAY IS. WONDERMENT "old Lord you have such me and know me! such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is too high; I cannot attain it. (Psalms 139:1-6). wonderment. Is that even a word? believe it or not it is synonyms included amazement, astonishment, and bewilderment. I love it because it's not in our everyday vernacular. The sense of wonder conveyed by the psalmist it's not experienced every day either. Realizing that he can never fully hide from God his creator, David began to understand how uncomperheansible it is to be love so deeply. God knows him inside and out every thought, every word, every action. He knows his past and his future. No matter where he goes, God is there. Such knowledge confronts him and ftightens him, both at the same time. (verse 14). is familiar to many: "I praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; wonderful all that works; my soul knows it very well." What a perfect sentiment for Sunday,8 a break in a lenten journey to stand before our maker and wonderment Amen. Read Psalm139 and Romans5;6-8

Think about it, are you going to forward this or are you going to ignore it, because you think you will get laughed at? Forward this to all your friends, (I did), or just delete it! 80% of you won't. GOD said if you deny me in front of your friends, I will deny you on the Day of Judgment! (Matthew 10:33). When one door closes, God opens two. THE WORD FOR TODAY IS, Obedience, The Lord is my portion; I promise to keep your words... when I think my ways, I turn my feet to your testimonies. (Psalm 119:57-59). Obedience. This word almost immediately conjures up images of higher authority. Someone, somewhere -parents, teacher, boss,-- tells us what we we're supposed to do if we follow the instructions, we obey, if not, we disobey. But what's our motivation for obedience? To looks good? to not get into trouble? to earn "extra credit" some look upon God's word as a list of instructions to be followed for those very reasons, almost as if obbeans is only about currying favor. That's an "if-then" type of thinking: if we do this, then God will bless us. That, however, puts the focus on us and our obedience, which in our sinfulness, is misplaced. Instead, let our motivation for obedience be a "because--therefore" approach: Because of what God has done for us through Christ's death and Resurrection, therefore, we gratefully respond with obedience, confident that God is indeed a portion and his loving forgiveness is a treasure. Lenten Lord, give me a obedience heart, grateful to you. Amen. Read (Psalms 119: 57- 64).and (James 1: 22-25).

THE WORD FOR TODAY IS BROKENHEARTEDNESS: The Lord is near to the Brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit (Psalms 34:18). Brokenheartedness, is not a word we use very often; but, I dare say, it's something to which we can all relate. One can even die of a broken heart it's called broken heart syndrome and its brought on by intense, sadden stress. There are many things that Targget broken heartedness not necessarily the dying kind, but the kind that makes us die inside. when we speak about it, we realize that God most certainly knows what it's like to have his heart broken. It first happened in the garden of Eden when Adam and Eve fell into sin. And since that time, it happened over and over, each time we sin. Yet as the psalmist tells us. God continue to save and Deliver us though we continue to reject and betray him, he keeps calling us back and redeems us through the ultimate rejection and betrayal Of Christ on the cross. Are you feeling broken today? Hand your broken heart to God, who will carry your broken and lead you to peace. Healing Lord, take my broken heart and make it whole. Aman
Read (Psalm 34). (Matt.11:28-30).

THE WORD FOR TODAY IS Courage, There are many demonstrations of courage in our world, but one stands out: the courage to stand strong against the enemy. Many of the Psalms are like bookends with the beginning and the end typing together beautifully. (psalms 27) is no exception David begins the psalm exclaiming that, With God on his side he has nothing to fear. Even as adversaries lay siege from every side, he knows that God wil sustain him through ever assault. David knows from experiencs that God knows his needs and hears his cries. with that assurance, he does not give in; insteady he takes courage, standing strong in the face of his enemies. We, too, have in it enemy seeking to destroy----Satan. He comes at us from every direction, attempting to wear us down so we will give in to sin. But God is our stronghold and through the death and resurrection of Jesus we, too can stand strong. listen Lord keep my eyes on your victory and give us courage to stand strong against the enemy. Aman. Read psalms 27 and 1st Peter 5 6 through 11

THE WORD FOR TODAY IS Guard Your Mouth "He who guards his mouth keeps his life, but he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin." (Proverbs 13:3, AMP). We've all said things we wish we could take back. Scripture says that when we guard our mouth, we keep our life. That's because our words determine the direction of our lives, and wrong words can get us off course very quickly. The Bible tells us that life and death are in the power of the tongue. There's no neutral ground. We are either sowing seeds of life and productivity with our words, or we are sowing seeds of ruin and destruction with our words. Today is a good day to take inventory of your words and make the decision to sow only good seeds. Sow seeds of life by speaking God's Word over yourself and those around you. Make the decision today that your words will bring glory to the Lord as you guard your mouth and keep your life! "Father, I give You my every thought, word and action. Help me, Holy Spirit, to live a life pleasing to You in every way. Help me to guard my mouth and keep my life moving forward in a godly direction in Jesus' name. Amen. THE WORD FOR TODAY IS Thankful for the Kingdom TODAY'S SCRIPTURE: "Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe." (Hebrews 12:28, NIV). Scripture says that we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken! The kingdom is simply God’s system. It’s His way of doing things. The Bible tells us that His kingdom is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. In God’s kingdom, when you give, it comes back to you pressed down, shaken together and running over. In God’s kingdom, you can have peace and prosperity in your spirit, soul and body no matter what’s happening around you. If the stock market goes down, God’s kingdom is still strong. If the housing market goes down, God’s kingdom is still strong. If gas prices go up, God’s kingdom is still strong. Today, be thankful for God's kingdom. Thank Him for His system of blessing that cannot be shaken. As you keep an attitude of gratitude and walk in His ways, you'll experience His hand of blessing all the days of your life Father, thank You for Your kingdom! Thank You for Your system to bless my life. I open my heart to You. Please show me Your ways so that I can walk with You all the days of my life in Jesus’ name. Amen
