Sometimes we have already decided who God can use.

The person we don’t agree with.
The neighbor we don’t like.
The person who doesn’t believe what we believe.

But Scripture keeps showing us that God isn’t limited by our categories.

God can use people we wouldn’t expect. He can provide through resources we wouldn’t choose. He can bring living water from places we never thought to look.

The problem isn’t that God can’t work outside our expectations.

It’s that our expectations can keep us from recognizing Him when He does.

We don’t get to decide who is useful to God.

So stay humble. Stay attentive. Keep your eyes open.

The person you least expected may be carrying the provision you’ve been praying for.

The wilderness has a way of revealing what is already inside us.

Israel passed through the wilderness before entering the Promised Land. David lived in the wilderness before becoming king. John the Baptist emerged from the wilderness with a message. Even Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness.

The wilderness wasn’t proof that God had abandoned them.

It became a place of formation.

Because the wilderness strips away the things we normally lean on. It exposes our fears, our assumptions, our faith, and the places where we’ve trusted our own strength more than we’ve trusted God.

And often, the wilderness comes before a deeper revelation of God’s promises.

So if you’re in a wilderness right now, don’t only ask, “How do I get out?”

Ask what God might be revealing in you while you’re there.

Because sometimes the wilderness doesn’t just reveal what we’re going through.

It reveals who we’re becoming.

There are seasons when you feel dry.

You pray, and it feels like you’re digging.
You worship, and you’re still thirsty.
You keep going, even when you don’t feel anything changing.

But Scripture reminds us:

“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”

The night isn’t the end of the story.

God’s mercy is fresh in the morning. What feels dry today may not always feel dry. There is provision coming. There is joy coming. There is a new day coming.

So keep digging.

You may be tired, dirty, sweaty, and wondering how much deeper you have to go.

But in the morning, you’re going to have something to swim in.

Keep praying. Keep praising. Keep trusting the God who meets us with fresh mercy every morning.

We live in a world addicted to information.

When we’re in the wilderness, we often respond by trying to learn more about the wilderness. We search. We analyze. We ask why. We gather more information about what we already know.

But sometimes more information isn’t what we need.

We need revelation.

A prophetic word doesn’t necessarily tell us something new about the circumstances. It gives us God’s perspective within them.

When you’re in the wilderness, you already know it’s dry.

You don’t need someone to explain the wilderness to you.

You need to see what God is doing in the middle of it.

That’s why we need prophetic people who help the Church look again, listen again, and recognize the activity of God when circumstances make Him difficult to see.

Information can tell you what is happening. Revelation helps you see what God is doing.

The middle of the week can be full. Work, school, schedules, responsibilities, and everything in between. But tonight, there’s a place to pause, breathe, and be reminded that we were never meant to follow Jesus alone.

Sometimes prayer feels less like soaring and more like digging.

Every time you pray, you’re digging.

Every time you lift your hands and worship God in the middle of a dry place, you’re digging.

Paul found himself in prison, and he sang. Not because his circumstances were easy, but because worship reached deeper than his circumstances.

Prayer and praise have a way of taking us beneath the surface, down into the places of our souls that feel dry, weary, or forgotten.

And if we keep digging, we may discover that the well was never empty.

There is living water beneath the surface.

But nobody else can do your praying for you. Nobody else can do your praising for you.

So keep digging.

Keep praying.
Keep praising.
Keep seeking.

Because Jesus promised that those who believe in Him would have rivers of living water flowing from within.

Dig a little deeper. The well is there.
