Introducing: The People’s Table 🌻
A community initiative by Hutch In Harmony and Wisdom In Motion, created to make it easier for neighbors to nourish neighbors.
We believe that food is more than a meal. We see that it brings connection, care, and dignity.
Through our monthly community cook-ups, shared recipes, and meal preparation, we’re building a sustainable network of support across Hutchinson.
How it works:
• Wisdom in Motion youth prepare bulk meals once a month during an International Cooking Class.
• Community members are invited to cook the same recipes (or their own bulk recipes) at home, package them in Ziploc bags or containers you don’t mind donating, and drop them off to be distributed to neighbors the next day.
• Recipes submitted through our community Google Form will be added to a free, public recipe hub available on our websites so that anyone can cook, share, and care.
The first Community Cook & Share: November 14th 🗓️
Meal drop-off: Friday, November 14th
Distribution & Delivery: Saturday, November 15th by HIH & WIM volunteers.
We’ll make sure every meal finds its way home to families, elders, and neighbors who could use a little extra care. ❤️

Sometimes, the best thing we can do
is make sure our neighbors eat.
We also created a private Facebook group to strengthen mutual aid in our community. It will be a space where neighbors can help meet each other’s needs directly.
Think of it like a community swap and support:
If someone has extra eggs and oil, and another neighbor needs diapers or baby wipes, this is where those connections can happen.
Whether it’s trading, sharing, or offering a helping hand, The People’s Table is about making sure none of us are struggling alone.

Community care starts small, with one act of kindness, one shared meal, one neighbor at a time.
