Devotional:
2 Corinthians 10:5 (KJV)
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
Our thought life as men is a huge key to daily victories and Holy Spirit power in our lives.
Paul said in Romans 7: Romans 7:25 (KJV)
I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
Notice : with his mind he served the Law of God.
In the book of Philippians it says :
Philippians 4:8 (KJV)
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things.
Since you and I live in a very sinful world and lusts are only a few clicks of a TV ,computer, phone, tablet away we must determine to walk in God’s strength to overcome lusts and sins that want to capture us.
The Bible says to cast them down!
Remove them.
One way I practice this is to daily read my Bible and then to memorize the Bible.
I have verses that I write down and keep in my pocket that I am memorizing.
The Bible will protect you from the allurement of lusts.
David said : Psalm 119:11 (KJV)
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
On this Monday morning let us as God’s men take the Bible and daily hide its Truth in our hearts.
Purity mentally is a key to victory.
I am very aware of the moral failures of many men in our day. We must break this terrible habit that is destroying many men of po*******hy. How ?
Through the Word of God.
God is greater
God’s Word is greater.
To pray: Dear Lord, as I start my work week I commit my life to you and desire to please You in all I think and do.
To ponder: Only you know areas you are weak and tempted in. Confess those areas to the Lord and let Him give you His power to overcome!
