The First Congregational Church, Huron, is pleased to announce that Ron Volesky has accepted the call to become its Pastor.
On August 2, a special meeting was held, and the congregation voted to establish Volesky as its new Pastor.
Ron was born on July 13, 1954, in the little Indian village of Bullhead on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation in north-central South Dakota. His early childhood was lived in a social and family environment dominated by violence, alcoholism and poverty. He was later taken out of this environment and adopted by Leonard and Louise Volesky, and was reborn and started a new life with the Volesky family in Huron.
While attending a tent revival on the South Dakota State Fairgrounds conducted by a Native American evangelical team, Ron came to know and believe in Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior, and while in high school he was baptized in the First Assembly of God Church in Huron.
While he has traveled through many valleys in his life’s journey, the hand of the Almighty kept him from falling too far and into irredeemable destruction, and he is truly thankful for God’s hand of intervention protecting him from self-destruction. One of his favorite verses is 1 Peter 5:7, “Cast all your cares on Him because He cares for you.”
Volesky will officially begin his role as pastor this Sunday, August 9, at First Congregational Church. Service starts at 10:30 a.m., followed by a potluck.

Attention: We will be having a special Congrgational meeting August 2nd to vote on our pastor candidate Ron Volesky. If you are unable to come and cast your vote you can come to the church between 8-12 and pick up a absentee ballot
