Our North Alabama Conference QuadW interns have arrived, and we’d love for Lakewood to help support them during their summer of ministry in Huntsville. There are only three interns this year, which makes it easy to host them for a simple meal and some friendly conversation.

We’re looking for folks who can provide dinner Monday–Thursday nights. You can cook, pick up takeout, or take them out to eat — whatever works for you. Your hospitality is a meaningful way to encourage these young adults as they serve across our community.

The QuadW Missional Internship gives Christian young adults the opportunity to live in intentional community while participating in missional service. 2026 United Methodist Church (UMC) Heritage Sunday theme for Pentecost is "The Spirit Falls Equally."

This theme marks the 70th anniversary of women receiving full ordination rights and full membership in UMC annual conferences.

It honors the historical and present-day contributions of women across Methodism, emphasizing that the outpouring of the Holy Spirit is never limited by human boundaries.

In his latest message, Bishop Jonathan Holston is calling on every congregation and believer to remain engaged in the democratic process. He writes, "I encourage every congregation and every believer to remain engaged. Pray for our courts, our elected officials, and our communities. Educate yourselves about the issues before us. Encourage voter participation. Support efforts that protect equal access to the ballot box. Stand with neighbors whose voices may be overlooked or discounted."

Holy and gracious God,
We thank You for the seeds of hope planted throughout this academic year — seeds of learning, compassion, and community. Bless the students as they finish their studies, the teachers and staff who guide them, and the families who support them.

Strengthen Ms. Helen Drake and Ms. Marilyn Lewis as they serve with care and commitment. Continue to lead LUMC in the work of love and justice in our neighborhood. May all we do reflect Your grace. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
