📖 Scripture Sunday

As a new school year begins in many parts of the world, we are reminded that we do not have to navigate what lies ahead on our own. God freely gives wisdom to those who seek it, and we are encouraged to grow in grace, learn from one another, and seek God’s guidance in every season.

This week, let’s pray for returning students, teachers, administrators, and families. May God give them wisdom for each challenge, patience in difficult moments, joy in learning, and grace for one another. May this be a year of growth, discovery, and deepening faith.

Lord, guide our schools and all who learn and serve within them. Give them wisdom, strength, and grace for the year ahead. Amen. 🙏

Loved while still sinners.

God’s love was never dependent on perfection. Before anything could be earned or deserved, Christ chose the cross. His sacrifice is the ultimate picture of a love that meets us in our brokenness and covers us with grace.

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." — Romans 5:8

Peace beyond understanding.

The peace that Jesus offers isn't dependent on circumstances, it remains steady through every season. While the world looks for temporary comfort, His peace calms troubled hearts, quiets fear, and reminds us that His presence is enough.

Jesus said, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." — John 14:27

Scripture Sunday 📖

Last week, we invited you to reflect on who "YOU" say Jesus is. This week, let's consider what comes next.

Recognizing Jesus as Lord is the beginning of the journey, not the destination. In this passage, Paul reminds us about the heart of discipleship; not simply believing in Christ, but growing to become more like Him every day.

As you go about your week, ask yourself: Do my words and actions reflect Jesus? Am I known for gratitude, grace, kindness, patience, and love? How am I helping others see Christ through the way I live?

Faith isn't just something we confess, it's something we practice.

🙏 Gracious Lord, give us the strength and perseverance to walk faithfully with You each day, regardless of our circumstances. Continue to shape us into the likeness of Christ so that our words, actions, and lives reflect Your love to the world. Amen.

Serve with gladness.

There is something special about gathering together in worship. As we come together for Annual Conference this weekend, may every conversation, prayer, and song bring glory to God and encourage one another in faith.

Psalm 100:2 says "Serve the Lord with gladness; come before his presence with singing."

Scripture Sunday 📖

In these verses from Hebrews, we are instructed by Paul to love one another and to show hospitality to strangers because in doing so, we may unknowingly welcome angels. We are also urged to remember those in prison and those who are suffering, not as distant concerns, but as part of our own body. Because in Christ, we are one. All our brothers and sisters are worthy of our compassion, our prayers, and our faithful remembrance. Who might God be calling you to welcome, remember, or pray for today; especially the unseen or forgotten?

🙏 Lord, open our hearts to love as You love. Help us to welcome the stranger, remember the suffering and live as one body in Christ. Amen.
