Youth Camping trip had to be postponed to January 18th as this weekend is bringing another 2 inches of rain!

We have two camping sites now with a nice view so mark your calendars and be at the church 4pm December 14th. Bring a warm sleeping bag, your gear and $20. We will have loaded baked potatoes for our evening meal and or Chili. Smores for desert. Sat morn breakfast will be french toast and bacon. Saturday lunch will be sandwiches.

Youth Hang Out Night this Friday July 6th at 6:30 pm. We'll meet at the church and then go to Big Spring Park if the weather is nice, if not then we'll just plan on playing games.

WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD:

James 4: 6-10..."But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, 'God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.' Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you."
Continuing along the thought of last night's message, I would like to emphasize the importance of a relationship with God.
According to the Bible, a relationship with Him bestows on us his measure of grace. Grace, by definition, is divine goodwill. It is not something we naturally have, but something we gain from a relationship with God. Spending time with God makes us more like him. It changes our spiritual condition and helps us to be better leaders, followers, givers, teachers, and so much more.
"For by grace we have been saved" (Ephesians 2:8-9), and it is by grace that we become who we were meant to be.
Don't focus on what you're doing right or wrong. Instead, just sit down and be with Him! That is really all he wants for us!
