Christ Presbyterian Church in partnership with the Holy Spirit seeks to provide an environment where people can experience God. Through inspiring worship and
a variety of opportunities for learning and service for people of all ages. As a part of the Reformed and Presbyterian family of churches, Cumberland Presbyterians believe in the sovereignty of God and the authority of Scripture as essential to our faith. We believe that God’s grace is available as a free gift to all who will receive it, and that God’s grace leads us to repent of our sin and claim the new life God offers. At Christ Church, weekly worship is informal, yet traditional (“tradition with a twist”). Our worship style is more traditional in format and is organized around Scripture. Each worship service includes prayers (corporate and silent), scripture readings, affirmation of faith, hymns, a choir anthem or solo, and a sermon. The sermons are down-to-earth and practical for daily living. There is a time for children in the midst of worship which even includes the youngest children and toddlers in our nursery. We celebrate the sacrament of Communion once a month, which is open to all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that as disciples of Jesus Christ we are called to move out beyond our church building in love and service to others. Therefore, a portion of our annual budget is dedicated to ministries outside our church. In addition to our financial giving, we are also engaged in acts of service, care and ministry in our local community with individuals, organizations and schools.
