In October 1998, God birthed a unique ministry into existence in the City of Huntsville, Alabama, aptly named the “Right Way Church of God in Christ”. God entrusted the reins of shepherding, leading and discipling this flock to Elder Jesse L. The Lord revealed to Elder Draper in the year of 1992 the Scripture, Psalms 107:6-7, (“Then they cried unto the lord in their trouble, and he delivered them
out of their distresses. And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation”), from which the name of the church was derived, and gave him a vision to start a work for Him. Elder Draper accepted this awesome mandate from God, and in 1998, he realized that it was time for him to move out of his ‘Comfort Zone’ and do as God had commanded him. By faith, he acquired an office space, located at 5031-C Max Luther Drive and converted it into a sanctuary, and the first service for the Right Way Church of God in Christ was held on October 18, 1998. The Lord began to add souls to the church as He had promised and the Right Way congregation grew and a larger place of worship was needed. The Lord spoke to Pastor Draper through the scripture. Isaiah 54:1-4, “Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes. For thou shall break forth on the right hand and on the left”. The Right Way Family grasped hold of the Pastor’s vision and agreed that it was indeed time to acquire a larger space. After considering various locations and properties, things weren’t progressing as quickly as the congregation felt it should, and many became weary. We were immediately brought back in line by our Church Mother’s encouragement to believe that “no matter what it seemed or looked like, do not waiver in our faith, but hold on to the fact that God had promised to give us a Cathedral, and when He does, we will know that it was He who did it!!” We then began to depend totally on God, and not ourselves, and on December 19, 2002, the Lord Blessed us to purchase our present church home, located here at 5307 Mastin Lake Road. The Right Way Church of God In Christ is a step-forwarding ministry that supports the needs of its members and the community. We have several active auxiliaries that are serving to aid in the up building of the work of the Lord. Right Way is not just another church, it is a Ministry which has been blessed in such times as these with God Fearing people to be servants of God, willing to nurture God’s people.
