According to the HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) website report, the Confederate monument is no longer standing in front of the Madison County Courthouse in downtown Huntsville.

Law enforcement began blocking off the area surrounding the statue around 11 p.m. Thursday. The monument was officially taken down around 1:30 a.m. Friday

After years of protests, the issue was reignited this spring amid nationwide protests over racial inequality. After several months of back and forth between the Huntsville City Council and Madison County Commission, the decision was apparently made within the past couple of weeks.

If you are riding down N. Parkway, you have noticed the outdoor eArt exhibit that is located on the grounds of the Fellowship Of Faith Church. Sponsored by the Rosetta James Foundation, Coldwell Banker and the Tennessee Valley Diverseity Coliqium. For those who have been wondering what was going on, the pictures are a part of the BLM Movement conversation. Painted by black and white artist alike it creates a wonderful opportunity for conversation and education in our community.

It's a New Day! The acknowledgement of Systemic Racism is gaining a larger platform in this generation. We have known about it, we have shouted it from the rooftops for generations. Now its becoming a larger conversation because those outside of the black community are beginning to see it AND vocalize it. Now, let's keep them accountable.

This bears repeating!!! Reposted

Just hung-up on an unsolicited investor for the 5th time this week. Investors are swarming in like bees 🐝 surrounding a honeycomb, trying to buy property in north Huntsville. Listed or not, they’re soliciting. Don’t let these people manipulate you into basically giving your property away for pennies. Hold on to your stuff a little longer! Know your worth! Make necessary upgrades and make them pay for it. Your property is just as valuable as Madison and southeast Huntsville.

NO THANK YOU, NOT INTERESTED!!!

Amendment 1is going to be on the March 3rd ballot.

Alabama voters on Super Tuesday will decide the fate of the state school board.

A proposed constitutional amendment, called Amendment One, asks whether or not voters want to change how the folks in charge of education at the state level are selected. Currently, voters elect eight state school board members by district.

A YES vote would end the current system. That means state school board members would no longer be elected. They would be chosen by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate. A NO vote would keep things the way they are.
